Wow.
I have a hard time believing that anybody could be distracted enough to put a baby in the oven, believing it to be something else.
I’m guessing that she may have been in an altered state through the use of drugs. There is no way this could have happened to somebody of a sound mind.
So who got her pregnant?
Media shouldn’t have used the words “bubbly baby”...

That poor poor child.
What ARE we doing? No one used to do this kind of stuff! It was unthinkable! Yet here it is in story after story....
So she put her baby in the oven she thought was a crib. Ok, but where she loses me is at the point that she turned the “crib” to 350 degrees.
I’m not buying it.
Even if you pretend that one could mistake an oven for a crib, outside “Hansel and Gretel,” how does this happen?
I wouldn’t put a baby into a crib that was set at 350 degrees.
I’ve put babies down many hundreds of times, and never once would I have failed to notice a crib temperature that high.
This was murder.
EXECUTE NOW!!
My other thought is, why was the oven on? Did she just leave it going all the time? Sounds pretty unlikely.
This is a connected comment.
Maybe 12 years ago we drove from our home in S Indiana to go visit the oldest daughter who lived with her husband and our baby grandboy near Dallas for his work. So we took a short cut and drove through the backcountry of Missouri near Mark Twain National Forest (if I recall).
I have never before or since seen such poverty in my life including Eastern Ky. The people were quite a bit different than this story in that they were poor, white and very country. I saw families in single wides that were probably in poor condition 40 years ago, and had just gotten worse. I mean siding missing, insulation and weathered 2x4 frame poking through like bones from a rotting whale. Front yards bare dirt where so many kids feet had walked on them countless steps, pit Bull mixes chained up, concrete blocks under the cars and wheels under the trailers. Trash littering the trailers in a semi circle centered on the front doors missing their screens on out to the scraggly woods most of them were situated near. Such totally different cultures, backgrounds etc. but shockingly poor.
Yes the poverty in Missouri is not to be underestimated, at least in isolated pockets.
Post partum insanity?
Inspired by the Hamas attack on Israel?
Well, yeah.
Again, no mention of baby daddy.
An oven and a crib looks so much alike...
If you are either HIGH ON DRUGS, DRUNK or BOTH!!
RIP little gir
I guess she was just performing a “post-partum abortion”. Truely an evil my Christian mind cannot comprehend. Where was the baby’s father at?
It used to be common practice to sterilize a young woman who had chronic mental issues, but was socialized enough to mix with the general population; meaning males of her own age.
Many advocates for the mentally ill considered this cruel and disrespectful treatment. But the fate of this infant is s worst case scenario reason why such involuntary sterilization was done.
This sounds very much like the title story in The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat: And Other Clinical Tales,
by Oliver Sacks.
That is, a profound neurological dysfunction. Someone who has temporarily or permanently lost their spatial reference abilities. Quite literally unable to distinguish between her babies crib and the kitchen oven.
God have mercy on us all. Just wow.
