Hawas lost his positions long ago over his politics but even he was showing

these “revelations” long before he was let go. The original name painted over.

The golden mask was repurposed from a female mask and if I recall Tut was the

only ever entombment on the wrong side of a chamber. I forget which was what

They did not expect him to die so quickly. Undoubtedly he had a tomb being made but these were not things you made overnight or even in a month or two.

Probably there were other tombs where the same thing happened but they were looted a couple of thousand years ago so we do not have the mostly complete funerary goods to compare and contrast.

There was a pretty good movie about Howard Carter locating Tutankhamun a few years ago. Sam Neil plays his benefactor. I always like movies with Sam in them.

If the guy who first opened the tomb hadn’t been killed by a mummy due to the curse a lot more would probably be known.
