The targeted firings of talented engineers tanked employee morale. Randall Lin worried the dour mood would impact people’s work. He decided to fly to New York with his long-distance girlfriend, Alex, an OnlyFans star who lived in the Midwest, to check on two of his colleagues in person. “People were emotionally a wreck,” Lin said. He paid for the flight and hotel himself.

Boo frickin’ hoo. Give these people a quarter.
He’s going to run it like SpaceX. He burns through people, uses them up and replaces them with new. I’ve been to a place where the SpaceX people in Texas hang out, there are no old people, they are all young.
“Elon broke me.”
I remember reading how “employees” would show up whenever, go have a workout, a nap, then free steak dinners. Maybe do some “work”. The people fired by Musk were deadbeats. Heaven forbid the boss expect someone to actually work.
Zero sympathy for Twitter employees.
Just my humble opinion.
“her forthcoming book”
Yeah, I stopped right there.
Unless you have an employment contract, every day, in fact, could be “your last.”
“fly to New York with his long-distance girlfriend, Alex, an OnlyFans star “
Wonder how that’s working out?
I have been thru three buyouts at three different companies.
All were the same.
The new owners came in and essentially fired all the older dead wood employees. Installed their new management and in three months it was all over....................
Oddly not a word in the article about the broken morale of the many, many more people seeing a stolen election, the installation of a Marxist government, and the steadfast internal destruction of America.
I didn't. Its a story of great consequence for those of us in the technology intersecting with society and national security business. $15 bucks on Kindle is cheap. Since the backers of the Deep State are not going to buy 5Million copies an dump them into the Harlem River, she is not going to get rich off this book.
Blah blah blah blah blah. Far from being a “sinking ship”, Twitter has continued to operate just fine under Elon after firing 80% of the employees.
When you can get rid of 4 out of 5 people on the payroll and still operate without any major breakdowns, that tells you your headcount was grossly inflated and you had a lot of unproductive employees.
The author, all you need to know:

It’s Vanity Fair.
What were you expecting?
Michelle Malkin?..........................
Yes, Vanity Fair is like Pravda under Stalin.
Arriving at Twitter the day after Elon arrived, I went to our floor’s free food area for my custom fruit smoothie enhanced with vitamins and also my special latte made with coffee beans flown in from Bora Bora this morning. Note to self, update Twitter’s procurement system for more beans tomorrow! Where was I? Oh yea, off to my morning’s free massage and sauna which I booked with the Twitter employee app just before it went to bed last night. After my session, I checked my email to discover that Elon was in the building and making life difficult for the few employees actually came to work. Oh look it’s time for my lunch! Will blog later after lunch, TaTa……
Translation: Work is hard and the twits never had to work before.
Aw.
Techies seem prone to being “wrecks”. I’ve noticed it here.
