This is stupid. Don McLean had six top 40 hits in his career including his cover of Roy orbison’s crying which went top five.

“Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry”
I liked that a lot.
So many of these songs ... a lot of good memories partying in Alaska.

It must be Blue Swede because BJ Thomas had many other hits.

Do the same thing with me for The Monkees. (They’re not the ‘70s so much). But I have a “Collection” with over 100 of their songs. Great music.

1983 and 1967, respectively — OP is about the 70’s. Agree on Whiter Shade but Anna had more than one hit. Cheers!

I watched the documentary on the Wrecking Crew. Great Show. It had Peter York commenting on how those studio musicians did it all.

You had The Wrecking Crew, Motown had the Funk Brothers, then you had the Swampers, Stax with the MGs. All fantastic musicians.

This. Not These.
(Yeah. They sing “these” despite the title being ...this.)

Paper Lace - The Night Chicago Died
Paper Lace sent the song to the mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, who greatly disliked it. A member of Daley’s staff is quoted as saying that Paper Lace should “jump in the Chicago River, placing your heads under water three times and surfacing twice. Pray tell us, are you nuts?”

:Splat!:
I hate "I think I love you".
But yeah the 70s had some good music. Including some that did not ever make the top 100 chart.
