The reported appearance of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson in the Russian capital has sparked intense speculation over the purpose of the conservative media personality's visit to Moscow.
Carlson arrived in Moscow on February 1, and was spotted attending the Bolshoi Theater in the capital, according to Russian outlet Mash.
Questions quickly swirled over why the TV anchor would have traveled to Moscow, and whether he intended to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin during the visit.

What I suggested in an earlier thread:
“But Trump could send a person relatively isolated from his campaign. Maybe a well-known actor insulated by relative fame? A sports figure, or noted filmmaker, Dinesh D’Souza? Riley Gaines? Candace Owens? Ginni Thomas? Thomas Sowell? Victor Davis Hanson? Mark Steyn?”
Tucker would have fit right in!
Since you like quotes about Ruzzia here’s a few more:
“Russia is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.”
― Sir Winston Churchill
“The very disrespect of Russians for objective truth—indeed, their disbelief in its existence—leads them to view all stated facts as instruments for furtherance of one ulterior purpose or another. . .”
― George F. Kennan
“When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty – to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.”
― Abraham Lincoln
“They’re professionals at this in Russia, so no matter how many Jell-O shots or Jager shooters you might have downed at college mixers, no matter how good a drinker you might think you are, don’t forget that the Russians - any Russian - can drink you under the table.”
― Anthony Bourdain
“Russian stories never have happy endings.”
― Bill Browder
“It is easier for a Russian to become an Atheist, than for any other nationality in the world. And not only does a Russian ‘become an Atheist,’ but he actually BELIEVES IN Atheism, just as though he had found a new faith, not perceiving that he has pinned his faith to a negation. Such is our anguish of thirst!”
― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Idiot
“If the Russian people and the Russian elite remembered - viscerally, emotionally remembered - what Stalin did to the Chechens, they could not have invaded Chechnya in the 1990s, not once and not twice. To do so was the moral equivalent of postwar Germany invading western Poland. Very few Russians saw it that way - which is itself evidence of how little they know about their own history.”
― Anne Applebaum, Gulag: A History
“At the center of all that is Russia - of its culture, its psychology, and, perhaps, its destiny - stands the Kremlin, a walled fortress a thousand years old and four hundred miles from the sea. Physically speaking, its walls are no longer high enough to fend off attack, and yet, they still cast a shadow across the entire country.”
― Amor Towles, A Gentleman in Moscow
“I was not extremely patriotic about Mother Russia. I played their game, pretending. You have to deal with, you know, party people, KGB. Horrifying.”
― Mikhail Baryshnikov
“Without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be an empire, but with Ukraine suborned and then subordinated, Russia automatically becomes an empire.”
― Zbigniew Brzeziński
“Suffering is our capital, our natural resource. Not oil or gas – but suffering. It is the only thing we are able to produce consistently”
― Svetlana Alexievich, On the Battle Lost
“Russia will never be really civilized, because it was civilized too soon. Peter has a genius for imitation; but he lacked true genius, which is creative and makes all from nothing. ... His first wish was to make Germans or Englishmen, when he ought to have been making Russians; and he prevented his subjects from ever becoming what they might have been by persuading them that they were what they are not.”
― Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Social Contract
Respectfully, I was replying to a post in which you were pinged and common courtesy here is to reply-all.
Henceforth I will respect your request but do remember this and refrain from criticizing me as discourteous when I do.

Col Douglas Macgregor came along to help Tuck with the Putin interview and arse smooching?
I think Scott Ritter lives in Moscow now, too.
“The notion that Carlson is ‘unemployed’ is hilarious...turn off your television Boob.”
Tucker is making 20% of what he was making at Fox. This is my projection. At Fox the advertisers enabled Tuckers high salary. Tucker has no advertisers these days. Tucker has an active You Tube channel. He can make money from his videos if google has not demonized him/
Two months ago Russel Brand was demonetized,
He prolly gets swat raided at 5am upon return home
Maybe when you run out of your financial stream and come on hard times, you’ll find it hilarious as well.
Now your comment #8 finally makes some sense.
Thanks for the much-needed context!
Regards,
I take you at your word that you meant it in the best spirit of FR.
I just don’t care if anyone talks to the mods, so I wasn’t interested in the topic.
It is perfectly fine.
Best.
Well, certainly triggers them, at the very LEAST!
The Zeepers can’t comprehend that.
He’s not pro Putin or Ukraine, he’s anti the US getting dragged into another overseas war.
Personally I’d be interested to hear Putin’s defense of the Ukraine invasion and what exactly he wants in order to end the war.
A forgotten historic fact is how Russia stood with the US Union during the civil war. There were a number of European nations and banks there were heavily invested in slavery in in the confederate’s victory. Russia deployed warships to deter European forces from interfering.
I wonder if that could be a reason the Bolsheviks hated Russia and the Czars so much.
Tucker will be detained and questioned by CBP when he tries to reenter the U.S.
Welcome, Jane, the discussion of my comment #32 is lots of fun, if you care to follow it!
You may not like it, but the law is the law.
The signed strategic partnership here below is perfectly legit. It has been heavily relied upon, non-stop, in every day polices since 2008.

It replaces the 2008 version. It’s now fully up to date.
