This is like a virtual museum at times, opening hard to come by food relics that many times have not been filmed, or at least not in 75+ years in some cases. I’ve watched a lot of his videos, he does a good job. I especially like when he reviews modern MREs from around the world. But I can tell you from personal experience, despite what he says, MREs are not very good tasting. I think the C rations back in my day were much better. Plus, they came with cigarettes!

Love his ration reviews, but I do cringe when he tries 40, 50, or even 100 year old rations.

I did a lot of travelling in South Korea back in the 1950s with a Korean captain. We were given C-rations and told not to eat the local food. Our first stop in Seoul was selling them on the black market. It was the American cigarettes the Koreans wanted.

Some - the obviously ruined - he passes on, others he actually eats. There is always some speculation during a hiatus that he's fatally poisoned himself with Chinese MREs.

I don’t know much about MREs but unless there’s bacterial growth — he’s probably not going to get sick. Sealed foodstuffs will lose a lot of nutritional value, though.

Had the same with MREs from Y2K but I saved the matches,Spoon and Hot sauce.
