Don’t ask me who I gave my seat to on that plane
I think you already know
I told you that a long time ago.
Waylon Jennings.
Interesting report of that plane crash theory. Young pilot took off and hit snowy skies, had to rely on the horizon scope and experts say he wasn’t trained on that model which shows 180 reverse flip of orientation. They say he was going down but misread that instrument as ascending. If the night skies were clear that night the outcome would be reversed too.
Whether it’s pop, rock, or country, the best era for music was from mid-60’s to mid-80’s. For whatever reason, music quality dropped off sharply in the late-80’s.
I was 6 at the time, and the family was in Japan at the time, so I did not know that. Thanks. 👍
Srednik involves all fudds to watch “The Buddy Holly Story” to commemorate the sad day.
The reason, that would be rap music and the other names it evolved into. Country fell of a cliff in the late 80’s also.
The music of the pre 80’s era that was really awful was Hard Rock. Just the instrumentation alone was like finger nails dragging on a chock board. Same with the vocalists, some of which OD’d. I guess if you were high on drugs anything sounded good. Oldies channels don’t play this crap.
What’s interesting is how the music we here at FR love is played as background music in many retail stores.
Also the youtube comments on the same music from the younger generations is amazing. Most of them like it and wonder just what happened with todays stuff.
Don’t play that song.

The plane was a 1947 Bonanza V-35, the infamous “forked-tail doctor killer.” Only this crash wasn’t caused by the tail falling off (which only happened when the pilot unwisely flew into rough at faster than the airspeed prescribed in the owner’s manual for such conditions), it was caused by pilot disorientation after flying into known instrument weather conditions.
The plane’s nose art read, “Miss American Pie,” after the owner’s name for it.
