I must admit, music of that era was good.

But it was such a change from the contemporary big band stuff that many older folks of the era disliked it bigly.

Rock eventually matured in the 60’s and radio stations played a mix of rock and what I called pop, which was songs by Sinatra, Martin and a few others. Most music of the era had bands with multiple instruments and vocalists. Just about all songs had a story of sorts to tell. MoTown put out some excellent songs too by multiple artists with outstanding talent.

The country stations paralleling the rock ones were just as good.

Fast forward today’s crap where it all sucks. Today the wife and I listen to music from the mid 50’s to mid 70’s. A few songs up to the mid 80’s that are country are quite good too.

Buddy Holly, Sam Cooke and Chuck Berry wrote most of their own music, I think.

An American Airlines in NYC also crashed that day.

I agree, other than a handful of artist, my favs are all from late 50s - late 70s. Hotel California, Fleetwood Macs Rumors and early Elton John was about the end.

21st Century Music plain out stinks.

"Weird Al" Yankovic has pretty much said that he doesn't do song parodies anymore because modern music pretty much sounds the same. No real innovation happening.

The British Invasion bands, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Joplin, Hendricks, Southern Rock Bands. 1964 to 1974. Great 🎼 Music.

Few exceptions; I’d argue that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were worthy, but then TP was a hometown boy.

I’ve a vivid memory of tomorrow, 2-4-59, at age 4.
My teenage aunt was crying and my grandmother explained to me what happened.

There isn’t any 21st century ‘music’, it’s all just noise, including, or maybe especially, Swift.
