Who - never heard of him
They were way ahead of their time.
Shout out also to the late Fred “Sonic” Smith.
Ever heard of him either, but looks like he has a Buck Owen’s guitar..
I got to see the MC5 twice in Detroit. I still have the first edition, the unedited version, of their first album. This is a sad loss for those who experienced that time period in Detroit.
RIP monster player
What a time for Detroit.
MF kicked out his last jam...RIP Wayne.
I remember MC5’s Kick out the jams. Aggressive raunchy garage band fare with fast tempos. Punk derived from bands like MC5, Blue Cheer and others. More about attitude than melodies and musicianship.
The jams, they must be kicked out.
RIP
Freegards
Lot of great music coming out of Michigan then.
Commie, eff him.
And if the poser clown Tom Morello is your loudest supporter, you suck.
Kick Out The Jams mfer
They all wanted to start a communist revolution. Most of them couldn’t even start a lawn mower.
You are not alone. Apparently a good local Detroit band that never really made it nationally. Their only song to ever make the Billboard 100, "Kick Out the Jams", peaked at #82. The most damning thing in the article is Tom Morello calling him "...the greatest man I've ever known. He possessed a one of a kind mixture of deep wisdom and profound compassion, beautiful empathy and tenacious conviction". Morello is a huge America hater.
Thanks for the link. Saw them at CMU in the fall of ‘68.
So, if some jackwad Klansman supports Trump, that means Donald sucks?
I debated posting your clip or the KOTJ clip.
Yours is better…it’s now my cooking music. It’s hard to make dinner while moshing Motor City style.
