quickest way to find out is to pull the pin and let the handle fly then post us back. if you don’t then it’s probably inactive now.

Oh, there was never any doubt that it was inert. I just wondered if the blue paint on the spoon was there to indicate that inertness. The hole drilled in the bottom of the grenade made it easy to see that it was hollow.

Many years ago, I used to collect antique beer cans. Had some quite rare ones. The best places to find them in pristine condition was inside the walls of houses being renovated or torn down. Construction guys from long ago would toss the empties inside the walls before lathe and plaster went up.

A friend’s family was cleaning out the garage of their old farmhouse. Generations of junk. The last thing they found was a box of dynamite. Authorities evacuated dozens of nearby homes while it was removed.

Non story. It’s a paperweight, thus the blue handle.

It would be quite helpful if “journalists” specified whether they were reporting on events in Washington State, Washington DC or Washington, NC.

I always keep a grenade in the bathroom. I mean, you never know when you’re going to need one.

I wouldn’t say “totally”, especially 60 or 70 year old ones.

Relatively maybe, but not totally.

The blue color also also screams newer fuse on a 1940s or 50s shell. There are idiots out there who would fill a body with blackpowder and screw on the fuse from a legal smoke or illum grenade. Unpredictable results and other merriment are likely.

I wouldn’t expect a home made grenade to be super stable.
But that’s just me.

I hate it when that happens.

No, not finding a Grenade.....
Finding out it is inert.

I have enough paperweights as it is.

“confirmed the object was a grenade, but it was inert.”

Freaking cringing liberals if it is inert, it is just a lump made to look like a dog turd or maybe a grenade.

We’ve found all sorts of cool things at J properties we’ve bought and renovated. The last one had a huge stash of 9mm and larger cal rounds. Enough for the apocalypse.

"I would love to find a grenade! Inert or NOT!"

You can still buy them. They are about $16 before shipping: https://armysurpluswarehouse.com/dummy-inert-grenade-please-read-description-for-shipping-restrictions/
