Interestingly, a Jazz Age icon helped to propel Bobby Rydell to toward stardom in the rock era. Paul Whiteman, the King of Jazz in the 1920's, featured Rydell on a TV show that he hosted, and his career took off.
My favorite Bobby Rydell song is Good Time Baby (1961), a hit at the close of the Eisenhower presidency.

So you just want everyone to guess and then just click on your crap? No explanation at all which would have taken you 2 seconds to do?
No thanks, we’ve all been Rick-rolled enough already.

Although I was born in 1962, 1959 works for me too.

He kinda jumped the shark when he did Bye Bye Birdie. But a great singer.

Postmodern Jukebox has rescued many modern hits by jazzing them up in an old fashioned way:
Creep
Seven Nation Army

“Today” began in 1959.Three Stars--Tommy Dee, with Carol Kay & the Teen-Aires (1959)

Bobby Rydell was swept away by Beatlemania, as were numerous stars such as Chubby Checker and Connie Francis.

My favorite “Bye, Bye, Birdie” quote—”[Men] are all the same—from puberty to Mussolini.”
