When viewing this, all I can do is breathe a prayer of thanks that the One who made all this also redeemed me with the blood of His Son.

Psalm 19 says it all
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

Indeed…

That’s one of the reasons I got interested in astronomy in the first place.

What hath God wrought?!

Fabulous post, Mike, thoughtfully presented.

Before I retired, I had the Pillars of Creation on my office wall.................

I've often said the same:
I can’t keep my garage clean much less an entire universe.....................

Astronomy has given me far more than I've given it (although at one time I did consider becoming an astronomer, I studied physics instead, became an engineer, and maintained astronomy as a hobby).

There is nothing that broadens one's outlook, and gives one an appreciation of God's Creation, so much as those Hubble photos. I thought I was pretty good at wrapping my mind around the immensity of space, until the first time I saw the Deep Field images. I frankly wept at the realization of just how much was out there; it was a life-altering epiphany.

I have to say, after that first stumbling block with Hubble where the optics were screwed up, the engineering that took place to fix that problem, and the implementation was completely impressive to me.

When that piece of equipment finally decides it’s going to die, I wouldn’t mind seeing SpaceX go up there and grab the Hubble, and bring it down so I could spend the rest of its days in a museum… :-)

I’ve seen most of these because I check APOD every day, but it is nice to have this review of selected pictures to admire.

Thank you for posting this thread and the pictures.

Thx...
Although I was being sarcastic, I will get one of those Crab Nebula canvases...
Living here on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay it seems appropriate...
