Any Ideas for Catching Mice?
Vanity | 1/17/24 | Week71

Posted on 01/17/2024 1:05:02 PM PST by week 71

Woke up the other morning with my better half screaming, ran into the kitchen and she was on her hands and knees on the kitchen counter due to Mickey.

I have taken two down so far. I used peanut butter and Nutella to bait them. Maybe that is all, but need to be sure.

Tractor Supply

Victor Power Kill Mouse Trap 2 pk., M142B

SKU: 224172799
Product Rating is 5

$4.99

Bait with peanut butter. Usually you won’t even have to rebait.

THIS trap, NOT “similar” ones.

Nothing beats these Tomcat Press-N-Set traps.

But remember if “you feed ‘em, you breed ‘em”, you have to get rid of their food source and seal up the entry point to the house.

Snakes are great for keeping the rodent population down but I don't think I would want them in my house.

My Antique shop had mice. It is an old building on pier and beam. Impossible to trap them all. A couple of stray cats decided to live under the house. No mice since. I reward them well with food, petting, and veterinary care.

we get them about 3x a year....they get in thru the basement somehow.....pretty easy to catch but I hate them...

our food pantry is down in the basement which is why everything is in a glass jar with a metal lid or heavy duty 5 gallon buckets....even upstairs here, we try not to have anything out on the counter and use lots of containers.

I've never had to use one, but one of those bucket traps looks like it would work well.

Yeah - they are eating my dog’s food - I’ve seen where they have taken it to and left some around.

Hot glue seeds, dog food, chicken scratch to the trap. Works every time!

I was told to fill a 5 gallon bucket at least half way or more, float corn kernels on top, and have board leading up to the rim ..the mice go in, indulge and drown..

I was a little amazed at how thorough that mouse was, he checked out every container that he could get into rather than find a few goodies that he would settle on and keep returning to.

The one I have is ‘defender pro’. This is how it was listed on my Amazon orders. “ Ultrasonic Pest Repeller, Pest Control Electronic Plug in Repellent Indoor for Flea, Insects, Mosquitoes, Mice, Spiders, Ants, Rats, Roaches, Bugs, Non-Toxic, Humans&Pets Safe 4 Pack
Brand: Defender Pro”

But there are many others. I bought this one back in 2020. Been working since then.

“...our own CDC uses mice...”

So does Wuhan. Or they may be the same.
