Due to all that processed sugar, the BSL (Blood Sugar Level) is probably thru the ceiling, too.

Kids not playing outside, all the time, whenever possible, and instead sitting on the couch with a TV, computer, phone, game console, etc, has nothing to do with obesity.

A whole fruit/pieces of fruit are better than fruit juices. Fruit juices by their creation concentrate the amount of sugar per ounce, compared to whole fruit.

Fruit Juice is some of the highest concentrations of sugars and calories you can find... nothing suprising about that. Juices have about 50% more sugars and calories per ounce than most sodas.

Garbage article IMO.

If there is a component of fruit juice that triggers weight gain independent of overall caloric intake, then that is one thing, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here because they’re talking about calories in juice as part of individuals diet.

If fruit juice pushes caloric intake over a certain level, an individual will gain weight. However, in that case you could pick any component of the individuals diet and blame the weight gain on that item for pushing total calories over a certain level.

Water contains PFAS (nano-particles of plastic) that cause health issues over time. 100% fruit juice should show a reduced amount of PFAS, unless it is in the trees and crops as well.

I knew zero fat kids growing up.
Everyone drank juice.
I chugged apple juice like a maniac, and ate tons of tangerines.
I did play outside constantly though.

Look at beach pics from the 50’s & 60’s.
You’re telling me it’s because juice?

Fruit juice is not only bad in that it causes obesity, it also wreaks havoc on a toddler’s teeth. I learned that the hard way. My first grandson loved apple juice. In thinking that fruit juice was good for him, and remembering the apple juice I drank as a child, I let him drink all he wanted. We didn’t make that mistake on the grandchildren that came later.

Hubby and I paid for the dental work that was required and boy was it expensive! Apple juice sold now is not the apple juice of my youth. The amount of added sugars (totally unneeded in my humble opinion) is simply astronomical.

No surprise in these findings given that fruit juice is primarily sugar. Sure there is some vitamin content, but one can get vitamins from food sources without all the sugar.

For example: Bell peppers have more vitamin C content than oranges do without the high fructose and high glycemic index. Yellow bell peppers have the most vitamin C content, followed by red, then green.

As for liquid consumption, stick to water. Drinking your calories, especially with a high sugar content, will pack on the extra fat since those excess carb-laden calories will be stored as fat (hence the term, "beer belly"). Even the "healthy" fruit juices will pack on the pounds. Calories without the satiety.

In other news regarding children’s “health”:

“Biden’s HHS to spend $700,000 on ‘inclusive teen pregnancy prevention for transgender boys’”

Our nation has gone stark-raving mad as Democrat politicians and bureaucrats destroy every institution and democrat voters are cheering on the destruction.

A 0.3% increase??!!! Well, screw all the benefits of vitamins, ya might gain a fraction of a pound! Plainly, diet soda is the answer. (/sarcasm)
