Marvel series "Loki" review

So much has been said of Marvel Studios being punked by their masters at Disney to make everything as "woke" as possible to force 'political correctness' down everyones throats whether they like it or not. The jury's in from 2023 and it said the profits from such projects took a severe hit BECAUSE of film companies wimping out from threats from some super-minorities with official-seeming stationary. EXACTLY like how Anheiser-Busch, Target and others ended up wondering where all the money went they were assured they'd get from going along with those overly-vocal minorities' demands.

I started watching "Loki" with a cynical chip on my shoulder that was knocked off quickly. Marvel inserted their best villain/antihero into an intriguing science fiction story almost no one attempts anymore - actually helped by the long form series format that we've seen harm too many others (Lost, Heroes etc.). Lead actor Tom Hiddleston worked his ass off for this so hard you can see the physical toll on the man, being the glue who held the work together as well as producer while the actor playing bad guy (Johnathan Majors) was going through a court case over domestic abuse he was convicted for and lost his contact over. Marvel was depending on Majors to hold up their need for a supervillain after they killed off Thanos...oops.

They'll be fine with so many good actors starving and all. Or get a for-real villain actor who knows what Wood doesn't float that really scares the crap out of everyone.

Walken

I can't compliment the visuals enough as the CGI was so careully done it took me a while to realize when the actors were in a totally artificial environment or not. Super-impressive considering this wasn't for a big money film...and we see an impressive list of effects studios in the credits.

If you don't mind having your preconceptions about time and space challenged and rearranged I strongly endorse this series. It totally departed from the super-hero genre' for the Twighlight Zone right off the bat and kept me enrapt throughout.

I happened upon a promo for the series. I didn’t know they were making one but figured it out as the clip progressed. It was pathetic, but maybe it’s because I haven’t like the Marvel products since the first two Spiderman movies.

Having watched season one of Loki entirely...I’ll just say that script-wise, it’s entertaining (pure sci-fi). Whether season two goes that way....unknown.

The one issue I have...it’s just six episodes for season one and it’s a compacted story to tell in 45-min episodes.

Absolutely loved this series. It was fast paced fun entertaining with a great ending and wonderfully, skillfully created characters. I like the MCU but I love Loki.

I really liked it, too.

A good set up for Kang, and Owen Wilson was great. How about a coffee and some key lime pie?

Loki has been a truly comical and exciting series.

It has been great to see how uncomfortable Loki is when he is the subject of tormented manipulations and lies.

It makes Loki look personally “redeemable.”

But then it wouldn't be suitable for children.

(OMG, they killed Kenny for the 947th time. Those bastards!)

I got a kick out of the running joke of the Time Variance Authority. The majority of the real TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) structures are 1930s-1940s era hydroelectric dams and such so the show's producers ran with that era's styles and designs for their sets.

My father took to one of the last automats in the mid 1960s and yes, they had key lime pie.
