71-YEAR-OLD BANK ROBBER ARRESTED AFTER $64,000 HEIST ISAI ROCHAJANUARY 11, 2024 Bruce Edward Bell,71, was arrested after a string of bank robberies in Los Angeles.
In his most recent December heist, Bell allegedly stole more than $64,000, maneuvering his way to restricted areas of the bank and demanding that employees fill his bag with cash.
“During this incident, Bell entered the location, grabbed an employee and pointed a firearm,” the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said in a statement. “Bell forced the employee to walk over to an access-restricted door. Bell demanded entry into the secure area and stated he would otherwise shoot the employee.”
A video released by LAPD showed what appeared to be the elderly Bell let into the bank’s employee and immediately flash what looked like a firearm. That is when he began giving instructions to the employees to dispense the money for him to put into his tote bag.
LAPD said Tuesday they later found Bell in his vehicle, had him pull over, and made the arrest for kidnapping with enhancements. In Bell’s car, officers found a replica firearm, and the $64,000 in cash.
Bell has had four prior bank robbery convictions and spent more than 40 years in a federal corrections facility before being released in 2021.

I guess being a bank robber doesn't come with pension...
Unbelievable. Well, he will be back in prison, and at his age, will be a life sentence.
He wanted to buy a Tesla
The movie ‘Going in Style’ was just on last week..........
Biden says “Hold my beer.”
Sounds like my retirement plan. Rob a bank and give up. go to Federal prison. Free everything, housing, medical, dental and good security.

He might just spend the rest of his life in prison over a lousy $64k. Loser.
Not so sure. Prison is probably the best gig he ever had. Three hots and a cot. Work or don't it's up to you.
That was my first thought.
He's been in prison before. This is clearly what he wanted. He understands prison.
If the judge in his trial REALLY wanted to punish him, he’d let him go free.
Anyone who steals more than $950 ain’t all there.
He has spent 40 years behind bars.
Institutionalized.
He is going home
