A New Hampshire town manager - whose gay son died aged 35 - has resigned over 'painful' homophobic comments made by a state senator.
Jim Gleason was the town manager of Littleton, New Hampshire, until he handed in his resignation on Monday citing a 'toxic work environment'.
His resignation followed months of tension in Littleton after a row broke out over three LGBTQ murals in public areas of the town.
State Senator Carrie Gendreau, who sits on the Littleton Select Board, spoke out against the pro-LGBTQ paintings back in August saying they were 'demonic' and adding: 'I don't want that in our town.'
She went on to tell the Boston Globe that she thought homosexuality is an 'abomination'.
Addressing the comments in his resignation letter seen by the Globe, Gleason said: 'This deeply hurt me and my family, as my late son Patrick was gay.'
His son Patrick died from cancer at the age of 35.
He added: 'Carrie never apologized or addressed this issue and continued to use derogatory language like "Queer" in my presence.'
On top of the comments made by Gendreau, in October, a resident went to the town office to protest against a local production of La Cage aux Folles - which stars a gay couple.
Gleason said that while protesting the play, the resident 'said she hoped I was happy Patrick was in hell with the devil where he belonged.'
When approached by the Globe, the resident said the claims were 'bull****' and said: 'He’s just trying to make a big issue out of nothing.'
Gleason had been town manager since March 2021, but said the months of controversy proved too much, forcing him to resign.

Good point. If the word “queer” is derogatory for some, then it is derogatory for all.
I remember a speaker making an anti-Catholic joke and saying that it was all right because he was Catholic. I did not find his joke to be funny. His excuse made little sense to me. His words were inappropriate, and no one laughed.
Self-deprecating humor is ok, but I don’t know that it applies to groups. It reminds me of Obama “apologizing” for America. He never apologized for the Democratic party. He never apologized for himself. There was something phony about his apologies.
I think we should reject special rules for separate groups. People find ways to justify special rules, but their excuses seldom, if ever, withstand scrutiny.
We need to find common ground. If queers don’t like to be called queer, the first thing they should do is to stop calling themselves queer. That goes for course titles as well.
While we are at it, we might want to consider the “N word.” If it is ok for Blacks to use it, others should be able to use it as well.
There always is, but it doesn't give them the ammo to paint the homosexual supporters as victims and Christians as the bad guys.
And all that matters to the left is the narrative.
Honoring his homosexuality? That’s all he had to honor?? WTF??? My wife delivered a 6-month-old still born. Does that count? Am I in the f’in club?
Dancing with glee because someone is in Hell doesn’t sound like Grace to me
Sodomy is a grave sin. It's an abomination to God. Leviticus 18,
If you know someone who is involved in this abominable sin, and do not warn him of its consequences, you're complicit. Ezekiel 33. Matthew 18:3. 1 Corinthians 9-11.
Therefore repent, while you still can.
Hence, that is why the church is in the situation it is. Jesus is not a get out of hell free card in monopoly. We are all sinners but the question is are we repentant sinners and have we turned away from sin and take up our cross and walk with Jesus. God sent His Son to die for us on the cross. Resurrection is the assurance that if we die to our selves and follow Him, we will have eternal life.
Hell is a real place and has real consequences.
“ Some people just can’t handle the truth”
He’s probably Catholic
couple things:
I don’t think you know what it’s like to lose a child and depths of despair you go through and they ways, anything, anything you can do to remember them
Doesn’t seem like a good sales pitch to bag on a parent who lost their child.
Besides, if Jesus can hang out with all sorts of people maybe we can show a little compassion and restraint in personalizing our remarks...
Let me give a “for instance” and true story.
I have a friend of over 40 years. Been a lesbian ever since I can remember.
Went to visit my Mom and hadn’t seen this friend in about 5 years. Didn’t recognize her either when she came up and squeezed me like a long lost son.
I only thought “Man, my Mom has always had crazies in her life”.
We all went to dinner and after a while I guess she realized I didn’t recognize her and she made an exclamation about something only she and our family would know and I blurted her name in question manner.
She jumped for joy and told me one night she was on an angry booze bender and when she awoke the next morning found herself drifting to a church where she made her way in and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She never felt better in that moment.
Went cold turkey on cigarettes and booze that day and suddenly wondered why she had spent nearly 50 years in anger....at what?
She dates men and zero desire for her old life and can’t even envision being angry at nothing.
Oh, she lost 50 something pounds which is why I didn’t recognize her at first and she almost looked datable.
So, we don’t know where our kindness leads and what doors it can open but, we do know how many doors of possibilities are shut by our anger and condemnation.
The left’s perversion of the English language is part of their war on normies

Great story about your friend. I’m not excusing her use of words. Dad was celebrating his son’s homosexuality. Which probably meant he also encouraged it(hmm). Reality is, if we don’t repent (myself included) we risk Hell. Jesus talked more about Hell than He did Heaven.
Abomination covers it quite well.
It is INSANE, that women get all comfortable with fags. They allow them to pretend to have a culture. To pretend homosexuality has NOTHING to do with sex. It is something they are born with. The hand position when walking, the sashay, and the lisping. They are affectations of their shared culture, not a natural way of walking, talking and dressing.
How can a single homosexual or tranny come to repentance, when they are PROUD of who they are? They can be forgiven with repentance, and turning away from their wicked wicked ways.
Yes, you put that very well. It’s been hard to exactly describe what’s going on in the churches today, but your explanation is spot on. Re read the book of Jude.
Yes, you don’t Know. You know nothing about the rest of his character or what his life history was.
(What do you think about masturbation?)
PROMOTING BEHAVIOR THAT KILLS IS HATE. Disapproving of that behavior is love.
Seems the libertarians have adopted their leftist brothers backward definitions.
It was most likely an in inference. Like MAGA supporters and actually Republicans are stupid. We hate blacks, jews, democracy and and especially democracy and blacks and jews. Did I forget queer, homosexuals and trans? They KNOW IT IS TRUE, even if it never happened.
Pride goeth before a fall. People who LIVE in Pride of their sin? I am thinking they are not prone to repent.
Gleason said that while protesting the play, the resident ‘said she hoped I was happy Patrick was in hell with the devil where he belonged.’”
Is it true?
Or is he lying?
Louis left off the next sentence, from the article….
When approached by the Globe, the resident said the claims were ‘bull****’ and said: ‘He’s just trying to make a big issue out of nothing.’
Who you gonna believe? Gleason? Or, the resident?
John 7:24 (What say you?)
1 Corinthians 5:1-13 (Refutes in proper context what cherry picking out-of-context of "Judge not..."
Galatians 6:1 (What say you?)
Matthew 18:15-17 (Ignored in the modern world. What say you?)
1 John 4:1 (What say you?)
2 Timothy 4:2 (What say you in this regard?)
Galatians 6:1-6 (What say you?)
Proverbs 31:9 (What say you?)
James 5:19-20 (What say you?)
Ephesians 5:11 (What say you?)
John 3:20 (What say you?)
James 5:20 (What say you?)
1 Corinthians 6:1-6 (What say you?)
Matthew 7:15 (What say you? Are we to not judge false prophets?)
Galatians 6:1-18 (What say you?)
1 Timothy 5:20 (What say you?) etc....
Scripture is filled with calls to judge certain individuals, proper context and comprehension is required. God wants a strong civilization to work with and multiply. We keep shooting ourselves "in the foot" though.
