A streets of San Francisco episode as well.
Remember the people running around screaming about all the sex and violence in the seventies? The first two seasons were very different from what followed. The car chases and fights were amazing. I’m not sure the original darker program intro is still available.
Two of the more fierce episodes from the early days were when Starsky’s love interest in shot in a robbery and fights for her life while they chase the bad guys. At the end, she dies in his arms. Ohhh that one got me.
In another episode, the bad guys break in with those horrible stocking masks and juice Hutch on heroin while he sleeps trying to kill him, but leaving his jonesing, and he and Starsky go through easing him back, plus chasing the baddies. 1975-77, it was great.
I guess I confuse S&H with Dukes of Hazard too often. They both included to main sex-symbol male actors, a muscle car, and a lot of street chases.
That’s the haze I view them through.
Don’t forget his role as a renegade motorcycle cop in Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry fick “Magnum Force.”
I hope that’s said in jest!
As for nearing 100, we should all be so blessed!
Not by accident. They wanted S and H off the the air. But it was a very popular show so they made it into The Gong Show. You are right about the cars from those shows.
Who? David or you?
Starsky & Hutch were detectives/cops of sorts, correct? I really never understood the premise of the show.
“Who? David or you?”
Elaborate, please.
Yeah, was an offbeat detective show. And it didn’t have much for realism. Because back then, the Warren Court had pretty much hamstrung the police. Quite the opposite of now.
But we all loved the shooting and fighting and car chases and Beverly Hills Cop style relationship with the boss and Huggy Bear the informant.
Please tell me that’s a poor attempt at trolling or sarcasm. You can’t really be that dense.
Who was she dating? You or David?
All the crap movies that get remakes and somehow this is never one of the
Are you being a slag? Ummmm.
I still have nightmares of poor Danny Glick scratching at his brothers window.
Still beats the Ukraine threads.
Or the multiple “clot shot” sudden death threads.
Thank god I didn’t change the preview settings on my spelling of clot!
Indeed.
