Hilarious footage shows the moment a carjacker weirdly tumbles off the driver's seat in an Amazon delivery van just moments after he stole it.

Dashcam video was released by the Houston Police Department's Robbery Division after a suspected carjacker targeted an Amazon driver and his delivery van.

The dramatic incident took place at around 7 pm on November 16 as the deliveryman was dropping off a package at an apartment complex on West Airport in Houston, Texas, KHOU11 reported.

The carjacker had approached the driver, threatened him with a gun and demanded that he hand over the keys to his vehicle - a Rivian electric van.

After the victim surrendered his keys - the carjacker sped away in the $83,000 delivery van.

He didn't make it far before bizarrely flying off the driver's seat and crashing the Amazon van.

The carjacker appeared panicked as he grappled to regain control of the steering wheel.

Chaos descended as the to door to the back of the van flew open and the vehicle slammed into bushes.

After crashing the vehicle less than half a mile away from where it was stolen - the suspect ran away from the scene and is yet to be found and arrested.

The embarrassing moment was all caught on dashcam footage from inside the vehicle.

Video from earlier on clearly shows the suspect, who is described as a 6'2 black male around 18-23 years old wearing black clothes and a black mask.

He is seen lurking around the road in front of the van as the vehicle's lights blinked on and off.

The carjacker is then seen crossing the road and scoping out the area before going back up to the van again.

Maybe the thief built up static electricity on the seat of his pants and it attracted more power from the EV’s battery packs and shocked him off the seat.⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡😱💨💨

Said to be eating a licorice Twizzler and listening to “Paint It, Black” on the sound system.

When apprehended, the Soros DA, Kim Ogg, will probably let him off with a ticket for not wearing a seat belt.
