Actually clipping is a foul still. Clipping is an illegal block below the waist from behind. That rule changes around 15 years ago when the thought was a 15 yard fouls for a block above the waist was excessive. Agra ago, ineligible receiver down field was a five yard penalty AND loss of down. Thank God they got rid of that nasty little enforcement

College OT is much better than the alternative of the team that wins the coin toss only has to get a field goal to win. Most new innovations to NCAA football have been bad but the new OT is fairer and more exciting.

And how did Michigan get a first and 10 on that illegal block in the back penalty?

It was a long yardage gain of 27 yards so the penalty brought the ball back 10 yards. Still a first down.....
