“The Seventh Circuit has recently ruled AR-15 pattern rifles are not protected by the Second Amendment.”

The Judicial Branch aka Legislative Branch aka Executive Branch has spoken again ... all fall down and obey.

The lawless ruling ignores the Heller and Bruen decisions.

And unless I'm mistaken it also ignores "Caetano v Massachusetts",a SCOTUS decision from a few years ago that I think is very powerful. The state's highest court upheld Caetano's conviction on a weapons charge stating that the weapon she was found to be in possession of was not protected by the 2nd Amendment.

SCOTUS took the case and ruled in Caetano's favor...9-0.In the decision's narrative the court characterized the state Supreme Court's logic in ruling that the weapon wasn't protected by 2A as "frivolous".

I was expecting to see Laz’s username under that. That’s a compliment!

I guess I should have made clear that they have little in common where it counts...semi automatic fire vs fully automatic. One is for war,the other is for self protection and other lawful activities.

The issue with those is ammo is expensive.

I’ve heard that as well. I personally find the AR15 too scary for me because of all the hoopla and noise so I opted for the less scary and less publicized AR10. That 15 number seems intimidating and the 10 less so.

NFA of 1934 is blatantly unConstitutional. The Constitution clearly includes weapons of war as arms.

A Springfield 1903 is a much deadlier weapon than any AR, but no one mentions that one.

The left picked the AR weapons because of their appearance.

Scary black rifle.

My Blue state all but banned the relatively meek AR, but is perfectly OK with my M1 Garand, a semi-auto firing the much larger 30-06 round in 8 rd clips that is an actual military combat rifle.

Go figure.

I have to keep it locked up and out-of-sight. My nerves, you know.

If I’d have been those guys in the link in post 18, I’d have rather had the “less scary” AR-10.

I put my stimulus money into Garands. The Garand will be the last actual battle rifle to banned. Maybe they’ll let us saw off the bayonet lug and not ban them at all.

Well, the AR10 is 5 ARs less dangerous than the AR15…

…so there’s that.

Very good primer. IMO a .223/556 is a sorry round. I own an ar15 and a ranch rifle. I prefer my .308 ar10 and my 30.06 m1 and my 30-30 lever.

Don’t get me wrong they are fun.

I killed a few small pigs with them.

I even killed a large boar with a hipoint 995 9mm carbine.

Shot placement is key.

So is cartridge choice. Go with hollowpoint/fragnible.

With a M1 Garand you have to be careful not to get “Garand thumb”. Don’t ask how I know.

Yes it would easy to convert one to full auto, but most of them would melt the barrel and injur the shooter.

Have to admit I play with rubber bands sometimes....

The lesson I’ve learned: do NOT teach leftists about guns.

They will only use your lesson to alter their drive to take them away.

They will never, ever, understand freedom and America’s founding principles.

A knife is a weapon of war. Hence the bayonet.
