JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — The owner of a Jacksonville Beach sailboat that washed ashore more than two months ago now has a warrant out for his arrest.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission issued a warrant for John Rehberg.
According to court records, he failed to pay the necessary fees to transfer the title of his sailboat to FWC.
Action News Jax learned that Rehberg was arrested by the Jacksonville Beach Police Department on Dec. 13.
He was charged with abandoning his boat and released from jail the next day.

Wow, I have insurance for my sailboat. It was destroyed in a storm last year, but thankfully, my insurance covered the boat’s recovery.
That’s a nice 40-foot boat. It would definitely be worth rescuing.
We used to have a lot of abandoned or semi-sunk boats here in St Augustine (blocking the channels, etc.) but the city finally got serious about removing them. Life is better now.
She washed up on Mole Day, and now, understandably, people are getting anxious for it to be removed.
The original/posted article did not provide the name of the sailboat, which I thought a little odd.
(But then when I went back to double check they had a video report on the scene with the name up close.)

Okay, few ever care what comes ashore on any given day, but with all of that, I couldn't help but notice the time. The 2 min Action News Jax report began at 11:59. Says it was 58 degrees so that's cool (the name Noah = 58).

I suspect this guy has every cent in this boat with whatever is left for food and maybe fuel.
The bill the FWC laid on him to remove it was $15k. I knew at that point it was gonna go bad fir him.
