Aw shucks, you missed two of the world’s greatest tourist attractions: “The World’s Largest Ball of Twine”, up in Cawker City (The Cawker City Chamber of Commerce is compensating in twine for any publicity I can give them.) Also, Mount Sunflower, although not a true mountain, is the highest natural point in the U.S. state of Kansas. At 4,039 feet. Whenever I drive out there I start to experience hypoxia, high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE).
I’ve done that one way going west but I had a breakdown outside Goodland Kansas so I didn’t fall asleep. Still I know what you mean about that stretch.
