The lawsuit alleges the dentist provided an unsafe dosage of anesthesia and falsified medical records to cover it up.
A patient is suing her Eden Prairie dentist after he performed eight dental crowns, four root canals and 20 fillings in a single visit, according to a newly-filed malpractice lawsuit.
Kathleen Wilson of Minneapolis says she received negligent treatment from Dr. Kevin Molldrem, of Molldrem Family Dentistry, in July 2020, that caused significant injuries. Her civil action, filed ahead of the holiday weekend in Hennepin County District Court, accuses Molldrem of grossly exceeding the safe dosage of anesthesia and falsifying medical records to show he didn't give Wilson an unsafe dosage.
It includes a scathing expert opinion from a Florida dentist contending that so much dental work in a single visit is "impossible to achieve if … done properly."
Molldrem did not respond to messages seeking a response to the accusations. He was served a summons in person at his office at 800 Prairie Center Drive on Dec. 20. Wilson's attorney, Nathaniel Weimer with the Minneapolis personal injury law firm Tewksbury & Kerfeld, also didn't respond to requests for comment.

In one day? I had a crown a little less than a year ago and the drilling and shaping took about an hour and 1/2. Then I went back for a second appointment to have it installed, something that took about an hour.
Just thinking of that mouth ... I’m surprised that the dentist even took the chance of working on that mouth ... don’t know what has been in it and where it has been.
You are right. He probably works 20 hour days.
Lol. Never saw that skit.

Gotta love Harvey Korman’s relentless efforts to keep a straight face when working with Tim.
Really rang a bell with me and Basic Training in ‘66 in Ft Polk La. (home of Tigerland)-—a guy in my company F-1-5, proudly (?) showed us all his upper and lower molars/rear teeth/main chewing surfaces, and the fillings therein , as many as a dozen, I guess. He threw his head back so we could all see.He explained his mother decided to do it on the assumption that it would KEEP him from getting cavities in those teeth. Most of us were like “WOW!” Didn’t know the guy and have no idea whether the strategy worked all these years later.
Insurance companies hire outside practitioners to review cases where the dentist is being sued (malpractice).
The outside practitioner reviews all the records/x-rays, etc. and offers their professional opinion.
If they feel that the patient has a case against the original dentist, they will recommend that the insurance company settle with the patient.
By this going into a lawsuit, chances are the insurance company expert did not find for the patient in their evaluation.
I was reading this to my wife and she said, at the right moment....” and a partridge in a pear tree!”

What does your dentist say about this? It might be that your crown needs a little more sanding or is not aligned correctly.
As to the patient... I have had slightly more work done than that, but over the course of decades, not hours. That is absolutely insane!!!!!

I remember that one.
Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were a hilarious team.
Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were a hilarious team.
I just learned from listening to an interview that the pair had a running bet, $50 each time one made the other ‘lose it’ or break character. Conway said Harvey “put three of my kids through college”. 🤣
My last dentist retired about 5 years ago. I needed a dental implant & once the prep work was done, he said the replacement tooth would be too small & they’d use a filler & I’d have to have it filled once or twice a year. I asked him why can’t we go for a larger tooth & he looked at me like I knew what I was talking about, so that’s what he did. I know its larger but I’ve never had anyone make mention of the difference in size.
I have my own scam story about my dental work, with four completely unnecessary fillings, as a preventative measure, as an early teen.
The dentist is apparently dead.
I’d like to be paying him a visit to work on his teeth.
