Texas may be getting the last laugh in a show-down with Chicago officials over transporting migrants away from beleaguered border towns to the Windy City after flying asylum-seekers from El Paso to Chicago last week.
Despite strict ordinances penalizing charter buses loaded with migrants heading into Illinois, buses and planes with migrants are bound for Chicago as we speak, El Paso officials confirmed to DailyMail.com.
El Paso has sent 139 buses to Chicago in recent months with the help of state officials, according to the City of El Paso's migrant dashboard.
Last week, the Texas Division of Emergency Management or TDEM, which handles migrant transports, chartered its first flight with migrants to Chicago to avoid growing restrictions over when and where migrants can be dropped off.
'TDEM basically flipped it; they said if we're going to have problems with buses, we are going to send flights,' John Martin, who runs the Opportunity Center for the Homeless in El Paso, told DailyMail.com in an interview Tuesday.
In recent weeks, the City of Chicago and suburbs like Aurora and Tinley Park started fining charter bus companies that don't give them advance warning of where and when asylum-seekers would be arriving.
'They (migrants) have to be respected, they have to be taken care, but this is ultimately the bus company's responsibility,' Tinley Park Village Manager Pat Carr to Chicago's NBC station.
'They're the ones who are trafficking these people up here.'
The new rules resulted in one bus being impounded and dozens of citations.
In El Paso, migrants at the Opportunity Center, one of three non-profit shelters that are bursting with recent border crossers, are still signing up to go to the Windy City.
'The (migrants) that are under care have a desire to go to Chicago,' Martin stated.

Ordinances that passengers cannot get off the bus in their town? Sounds really Jim Crow to me. And I bet a cursory look shows the other bus companies let passengers on and off. If a group charters a bus, stops at a lunch spot, is it illegal for the passengers to get off? Or to refuse to reboard? Is the bus company there chattel slave owner?

Oh hell no. The north pushes for open borders, that is where they belong. They didn’t make that trip to live in El Paso or Eagle Pass. They belong up north if they are going to be let into America at all.

We here in MN do not see the deficiency you speak of. We are already overrun with illegal alien immigrants and have been for quite some time (think a few decades now).
Look to any state with heavily “democrat” (or more specifically liberal/progressive) government and large inner-cities and you’ll see the policies attracting them.

Two wrongs still don’t make a right. Letting into the US…Wrong. Spreading them out to anyplace inside the US, using my tax dollars…Wrong. The only right is to deport them back there their country of origin.
Can't wait to see reports about the Chicago Gestapo checking iD's on all arriving commuter train passengers. The Work From Home people have another argument against going into the office.
Next, send them over by C-130 and parachute the illegals in.
