Taylor Swift can play guitar, compose music, and perform live. I don’t like her music or her personally, but she’s generating about a billion dollars in revenue and employing hundreds if not thousands via live gigs.

Way back when, National Lampoon printed a mock retraction in one of their issues. Inconspicuous, as they usually are, it read to the effect: “In our last issue, we referred to Yoko Ono as a no-talent hack, living off of the fortune and reputation of her dead husband. Miss Ono is a performance artist. We regret the error.”
