In a viral video, TikTokers Mason and Mai (@savingforboba), a couple known for sharing hacks with their 12,000 Followers, unveiled their latest Christmas Hack.
In the five-second video, Mai picks up an artificial Christmas Tree at a store and walking away, with a tree in hand. Text over the video reads: “Picking up my free Christmas tree thanks to the 30-day policy.”
Mason and Mai are implying that by purchasing an artificial Christmas Tree, using it, and returning it within the 30-day window of buying it, they get a free tree. By returning it within 30 days, they get their money back, thus making the tree free.

Y’all have any idea how many at home do it yourself home improvement guys go out and buy new tools, do their home repair, then return the tools for a refund?
“Why would you say that?”
Because your motor still was under a legitimate warranty. If you hadn’t had it replaced you would’ve been wrong.
Your buddy’s TV was over 5 years old, and most likely not under warranty (you never said). He took advantage of a seller’s generous — and very stupid — return policy, and technically he wasn’t wrong. He was running a scam. A decent person would not have done that.
But if you can’t recognize the ethical problem here, well ... what can I say?
You’d be surprised. Once you add the branches and fluff it out it’s bigger .
Have one.
Idiot owner then. I caught on to this scam in the late 70s working at a college campus Pizza Hut delivery store.
You have a legitimate beef. These people are entirely different, slime actually.
I still don’t think that tree pictured is the tree from that box. I have had many fake trees and that box is too small for the tree pictured.
I agree!
“Costco used to have a forever TV return policy but stopped that at some point.
Buddy of mine had bought a huge giant old school projector type set when the policy was in place and returned it after abut 5 years.
Well the store tried to not honor the policy but he was wouldn’t stand for that, so after a couple of hours and the manager making several calls up the corporate rungs they said he could have any set in the store.
Turned out the projector tv cost way more than anything new in the store so he got the best available at the time.”
I wonder if their memberships would be free if it weren’t for their generous replacement policies?
Well, the tree was not returnable after Christmas at our local store, even though I bought it only a few days ago. So, now I’m stuck with this piece of junk, all because other people abuse the return policy.
My older sister always wanted gifts that included a receipt. She returned them for cash....
