Yes, Britain most certainly attacked a Russian ship. And fully hoped for that outcome to become reality the moment they gave the weapons to Ukraine. This is, of course, the meaning of “proxy war”. And a proxy war is exactly what is happening right now in Ukraine.

I think you know that what you are trying to sell is ridiculous.
No it’s not a major blow. Russia has lost a number of such minor vessels.
More significant is that this may restrict the use of the port of Feodosia. Its been attacked before, destroying a missile corvette under construction. A ship that’s just in and out loading and unloading is a much more transient target.

Yes, a landing ship - i.e., a significant naval asset. Not to mention whatever Russian sailors manning it that are now at the bottom of the sea.
The problem for Ukraine is that the Black Sea is now pretty much devoid of worthwhile Russian military naval targets. Pickings are thus getting slim. Ukraine military forces have been doing their job too well.

The total number of Russian ships of this class is not nearly as significant as the number they have (or had) in the Black Sea. Access to the Black Sea is controlled by Turkey, and they are not getting any more warships in there. If a country wants a warship in the Black Sea they either build it in a shipyard on the Black Sea or get Turkey's permission to bring it in.
Ships in the Atlantic or even the Mediterranean are not particularly effective against Ukraine which has only a Black Sea coastline.
Let me explain what I see as the problem.
When the Soviet Union fell, part of their inventory of nuclear weapons were in Ukraine. Ukraine was persuaded to give these up, and one of the inducements was a guarantee of territorial integrity from western nations.
Fast forward a few years and Russia takes Crimea. A few years later, they are back wanting more of Ukraine.
Now, if the west does not help Ukraine, tell me what is going to happen the next time a small country ends up with a few nukes? And don't tell me it cant happen -- it already did.
Especially one that does not have the technical expertise to maintain them. They "go bad" after a period of non-maintenance. The temptation to use them before that happens is going to be very powerful. And they will look at the history of Ukraine and think "western promises are worthless".
This is the kind of stuff that leads to a very destructive WWIII.

You’d think ppl learned after KGB/Saddam tried this on Kuwait. Then KGB/Barrack came along and ceded Georgia, then Crimea to KGB/Putin. Now KGB/Maduro moves on Guyana and it’s up to the West to be mall cop against the usual suspects again.

Well, the Nimitz is 48 years old, and the Eisenhower is 46 years old. Both are still very much active, and fulfilling their missions.
Actually it was a large runaway Russian made ceiling cooling device with bad bearings that destroyed it. So it can be said that the ship hit the fan.
What is the point of Roooskies occupying Crimea when the Rooskie Black Sea navy cannot even dock there? Without being sunk.
Another reason that Putin and Roooskis are clowns.

I have been using Bing search for 4 years. About 7 times a month I must use Google search for something exotic. Bing search is not politicized the way google search is.
I mostly use Chrome browser made by Google. But then I change it to Bing as the search engine. My second browser is Bing, then Brave. Even Firefox and Opera rarely.
