There is a Freerepublic lexicon although BFL isn't there, BTTT is, which means bump/back to the top. There is a broken link in that posting too, here's the wayback machine link for that.

The rest of us will continue to have brown outs, blackouts, and be ‘encouraged’ to ride a bicycle.

Who owns them?

Depends on which one. Electronics, the Chicoms (under license). Most of it, the Canadians. the British sold to the Japs, who sold a chunk to Khazaks; went bankrupt and that's how the Canadians got it. As someone else posted the entertainment part went went to CBS then to Viacom which is now 15% owned by Warren Buffett' Berkshire Hathaway.

I've often wondered why the tech in US Navy submarine reactors hasn't been used outside that world. Security I suppose, keep it to the Navy. But a small reactor that seems like it must be pretty safe after 50+ years of experience at sea without any (known) serious incidents... why wouldn't that have a place in civilian life?

Perhaps this is something in line with that?

“It bumps the thread if you look at latest posts, and makes it easier to find later.”

There’s no “bumping” anymore.

I checked the Westinghouse website before posting.

The link I posted in Comment #2 appears to reflect a real product with a real ignition date.

You misunderstand:

You should avoid linking cooldown. It’s a climate propaganda site and, like the rest of the climate religion zealots, they are hypocrites (now they’re trying to embrace nuclear because wind/solar are failing).

I’m sure there are other sources for the story (with propagandists, there always are).

Above-ground installation requires minimum ground disruption with less than a 2-acre footprint.

That leaves a most people SOL but carte weed growers see great gift.

I thought the same thing. Maybe Canada? Ever watch the story of George Westinghouse? He seemed to be a very decent man who was defeated by not so decent men.

The TRISO fuel it uses was developed in the 60s in the UK. It is supposedly inherently safe and has been used a lot since it was developed.

I worked in new technology development in the oilfield. We had a saying that inertia often blocks the solution to many problems. Sometimes great solutions exist for a very long time before they are adopted. Why? The old stuff still works, Plain hard headed resistance to change. Not being able to achieve cost effective critical mass. The list goes on and on. It is amazing how the solution to so many problems is already created or at least the parts of it are and have yet to be combined in the right way.

Exactly right.

This whole Globull Warming, Climate change 🦬💩 isn't about "saving the earth", it's about controlling energy resources.

And food production, health care and the information that we are allowed to see, hear and read.

Now, they, just, need our guns
