A congressman with links to ‘The Squad’ who proudly voted to defund Austin police has been slammed after he requested enhanced patrols outside his home in the Texas city.
Democrat Rep. Greg Casar was a prominent voice in the defunding of the Austin Police Department as a member of the city council in 2020 following the Black Lives Matter movement. Last week he also criticized the force for alleged racist practices.
Now, he has submitted a request through the United States Capitol Police in Washington, DC, for a police patrol at his house - the request was forwarded to Austin police.
The politician was blasted by the Austin Police Retired Officers Association in a post on X Tuesday.
‘We want everyone in Austin to feel safe,’ it said. ‘But this seems to us as the height of hypocrisy from the congressman.’
Casar backed a vote to defund Austin Police as a city council member and it led to a police shortage as well as a wave of officers retiring from the force.
‘We did it!!’, he wrote in a post on X in August 2020. ‘Austin City Council just reduced APD's budget by over $100 million *and* reinvested resources into our community's safety and well-being.’
However, the Texas congressman sent a letter to the Justice Department last week where he criticized the Austin Police Department.

The Austin Police Retired Officers Association was left unimpressed at his request for enhanced patrols around his house by the same officers he has criticized.
‘It’s come to our attention that Anti police king of the defund movement in Austin @GregCasar who...

Call them on it. It won’t change their supporters but it will expose the truth-something the left has a problem with.

Democrat Rep. Greg Casar has givien aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States and Texas.
Will Casar ever be brought to justice, tried, convicted, and sentenced for his betrayal of the United States and Texas?!?
Exactly.
If the police get a call from him, they should laugh and walk away.
Funny how they’ve managed to ignore the meaning of irony.
“Keeping Austin Weird”.......

Well, SOMEBODY elected this turd. He should be doxed, so he comes to understand the worth of having a police force.
Public Servants should be prohibited from having armed security, and the police should JUST SAY NO!
Mrs. Casar’s little Greggy needs his cop-hating ass kicked.
Wetback too?
Why?
Typical Marxist Dem.
Because I do not believe in “special rights” for ANYONE, furthermore, I believe if you have someone in your employ or employed on your behalf for the purpose of protection or security , in possession of a firearm or ammunition, YOU should be required to have the necessary permits and permission to carry said weapons or face criminal prosecution for “constructive possession”, since YOU ARE IN CONTROL. Eliminate and Outlaw Hired Guns, Every Person in America has a God Given right to keep and bear arms and self defense, There is NO RIGHT to having Hired Guns do your bidding.
Casarlito is a skeeerd of the gunz i guess...
