“Why is Harvard giving Claudine Gay ‘plagiarism privilege’?” asked the New York Post editorial board Saturday.
It must be a rhetorical question. Professor Carol Swain, who was ripped off by Gay and complains “I feel like her whole research agenda, her whole career, was based on my work,” has some idea.
“A white male would probably already be gone,” Swain, a black woman herself, told journalist Christopher Rufo recently.

There are two types of students at Harvard: those with extremely wealthy parents, or, minorities with scholarships. Used to be some deserving asians got scholarships, but they don’t like them or Jews anymore (except for Chinese).

Harvard is a cesspool of ineptitude full of judgmental liberals who look down their noses at common people, and common sense. If they’re waiting for Claudine Gay to do the right thing, they can forget it... She’d never admit that she was a racist, or a plagiarist and she’s fine with living that lie.. Because he whole life has been one affirmative action merry-go-round.

Decades ago I used to say that the reason the NFL took so long for the first black head coach to be hired was that nobody wanted to be the owner who fired the first black head coach, as all NFL coaches eventually get fired. Nobody wanted the eventual backlash and charges of racism. You can't fire those whom you never hire.
We're now seeing that logic play out in the Ivy League with the first black university president at Harvard. Nobody wants to fire the first black Harvard president, even if the school is losing badly week after week.
