LWH. My mother and grandmother bought it (Chicago Area) from A&P Grocery stores when they existed. Its not "bread bread", its more like a steamed molasses muffin-pudding in a can. I Imagine it traveled in a lot of New England ported ships.

Its available if Amazon delivers to your address. Someone indicates that its cheaper bought locally. (Does not say where locally is.) Its shelf stable for 2 years. My local grocery has it on sale at $1.09 IF purchased online with their savers card. (Regular $2.98.) Probably already spent 1 year stored and in shipping so I would probably not load up. 1 slice has 24 grams of Carbs, so not Keto or Adkins induction food.

We have a can labeled, ‘Raccoon Peckers.’ I’m PRETTY sure that’s not REALLY what’s in it, but I’M not gonna open it! YOU open it, LOL!

I remember having that canned ‘bread’ at Grandma’s house. Grandpa was one for buying a CASE of anything he thought was a good deal. That year it was a case of cherry pie filling. Yeah, we had a few pies made with it but it. went. on. everything. that. year. B&M Bread, included! :)
