Eggnog Is A Christmas Miracle, And Your Hatred For It Won't Stop Me From Loving It

Some people were born to take on noble causes, whether they be fighting societal injustices or righting terrible wrongs or whatever. Mine, today at least, is defending eggnog, the long-maligned holiday drink you all like to shit on come every

December 1. And because I have to get back to my other noble causes (I also need to tackle foods that help people lose weight, should they so choose, and something else today that I can't quite remember), we're going to make this quick: Eggnog is great, and anyone who says otherwise is a Grinch-y killjoy who doesn't deserve dairy.

I really do like non-alcoholic egg-nog. I don’t understand the wrap.

I always make eggnog for the Christmas party, for after Christmas dinner and at least one other time, generally for tree and decoration assembly the day after Thanksgiving.

Now the stuff you get in the stores can be either delightful or pretty bad depending on the brand but there are a lot of bad cookies out there too. That is no reason to hate on cookies.

I will offer one caveat. For a number of years I worked in a plant where we made eggnog. From late October through the first of January I had to smell the stuff all day every day.

It did put me off of it. And off of anything with nutmeg.

But now I find it enticing again.

No alcohol anything. Super thick as well.

I adore eggnog (boiled custard around these parts).
