Beloved actor James McCaffrey, known for his role in the firefighter drama “Rescue Me” and as the voice of Max in the popular video game series “Max Payne,” passed away this week at the age of 65 after battling myeloma, a form of cancer.
While McCaffrey was best known for his work voicing Max in the popular video game series “Max Payne,” he also had a career in television. He had lead roles in “New York Undercover” and “Viper,” and supporting roles on shows such as “Swift Justice” and “As The World Turns.”
James has also appeared in films such as “The Truth About Cats & Dogs” and “American Splendor”, and has made guest appearances on popular shows like “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Sex and the City,” and “Jessica Jones”.
Rest in peace!
**Really. Clark Gable or Humphrey Bogart is iconic.**
And even they had to take dump regularly, just like everyone else.
I had never heard of this man either, but many of the ‘iconic’ ones have been found to be enormously flawed, even evil.
But that’s the job of the entertainment industry: get people to pay them money for a non-essential product.
“I just read that lung cancer normally takes 18 months or so to fully develop. It’s developing in weeks or months now.”
My niece was diagnosed with lung cancer last August and died in September. And they poo-poo the turbo cancer thing. Right.
Sorry to hear that. Covidiots are just too closed minded to think
Never heard of him, or any of those shows except Law and Order.
Kinda hunk-ish. I still don’t know who he is.
Maybe because “iconic actor” is considered more flattering than “character actor” or “supporting player.”
And since most icons are visual images, the idea may be “You don’t know his name, but you’ll recognize his face.”
Most of the time I don’t.
Never heard of him. Multiple Myeloma sounds like a raw deal.

It means he had a good PR person…
RIP
