A ketamine specialist is weighing in on Matthew Perry's cause of death, claiming the actor "did himself in."
Matthew Perry had a large amount of the drug ketamine in his system at the time of death -- the same amount that would be used in general anesthesia.
Toxicology testing found that ketamine levels in Perry's system were at 3540 ng/ml. For context, the report, obtained by The Blast, reads, “In monitored surgical-anesthesiology care, levels of general anesthesia are typically in the 1000-6000 ng/ml range.”
In other words, he had a large amount of the drug in his system, enough to render him unconscious

A doctor gave a prescription for my bi/polar depression, after my heart attack, which I got a stent.
I was so zoned out after the first pill, I threw out the pills.
I pray to God every night for my salvation.
RIP Matthew.
At least he died doing what he loved.
So he was able to self administer surgical anesthesia levels at home ?
This sounds like a Michael Jackson deal.
Who was the Dr who prescribed it?
Looks like to me that he intended to end himself
When you drag in 20 million a year in residuals from a TV show, you can buy a doctor.
There were dogs howling in cages at the vet’s office. He told me they were still hallucinating after surgery. It was the ketamine.
It didn’t sound like the dogs were having a good time.
There's a phrase I've heard a few times around the tables of AA. Referring to someone who has quit drinking, but is still using drugs as being "California Sober".
I just listened to the audio book of his autobiography. I kept thinking that it sounds like the world’s longest suicide note.
He was an addict who was not “clean” as they say.
I was given ketamine for a medical procedure earlier this year. Weirdest damn experience of my life. For about 5 minutes after regaining consciousness all I could do was sit there and say “what the **** was that!?” Over and over.

Lost consciousness due to drug OD and drown in hot tub.
Several years ago I was given an anesthetic cocktail for a medical procedure that included a minute amount of fentanyl. My reaction upon awakening was “where the hell was I?”
That’s why the nursing homes love it. My aunt was on Ativan for years(decades?) and was pretty mean. The nursing home applied some Special K and she was good as gold. But her bowels locked up and it killed her.
“At least he died doing what he loved.”
And with the one true love of his life DRUGS.
He WAS and DIED an abuser of drugs. Calling this an accident is like saying the Germany accidently invaded Poland.
“did himself in”
That’s a technical term...a medical term, right?
