Hmmmm. I think the word "accidental" is being used in the sense that no one seems to seriously think that he intended to die.
Perhaps instead of "accidental overdose" we should adopt into popular consciousness the term "negligent overdose," by analogy to the phrase "negligent discharge" from the firearms world- it implies a lack of intent but still assigns fault where it lies...
