Barely related but had an insurance client that ran a fruit wholesale operation selling fruit to restaurants, had a small fender bender at Lake Merritt. Visited at a friend’s invitation a few years back. The feeling of being behind enemy lines was palpable. Hair on the back of my neck standing up kinda thing. Criminals and druggies all over the place, while 20/30/40 something hipsters zoomed around on electric scooters. Surreal.
