After his official visit to Norway, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the command of the U.S. Army Europe and Africa in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The Head of State met with Commander of the U.S. European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Christopher Cavoli, Commander of the U.S. Army Europe and Africa General Darryl Williams, Commander of the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine Lieutenant General Antonio Aguto.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the work of the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine, as well as the specifics of the logistics of ammunition and military equipment supply, repair and sustainment.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke with the Ukrainian military, who are working in Wiesbaden as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s task force under the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine.
Representatives of the Armed Forces are responsible for coordinating the supply of materiel assistance from partner countries to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as well as training of the Defense Forces personnel in partner countries. They also coordinate the repair and sustainment of Western military equipment provided by Ukraine’s partners.
“I am honored to be here today to thank every warrior for their service in defense of our country. I am very glad that you are working as a team together with our partners, our true friends. I wish you only victory. This is the most important thing. It is the beginning of life and the future,” the President said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba commented on the European Council’s decision to start negotiations with Ukraine.
Dmytro Kuleba said this on social media, Censor.NET reports.
“I congratulate everyone on this historic day! My phone is now ringing off the hook with calls from my fellow EU foreign ministers. And this is another proof that nothing will stop Ukraine’s accession to the EU because this is the logic of history and the will of the Ukrainian people,” the head of Ukrainian diplomacy wrote.
He also noted that there are enough forces in Europe that understand that Ukraine’s membership in the EU means security and prosperity for Europe.
Kuleba said that one of the European leaders said today: “We will not leave this room until we make a decision.”
According to him, this only partially conveys the tension of the last week.
“But it is this kind of determination that makes history. And faith in victory. When everyone said that there would be no result, President Zelenskyy believed in victory and worked for it,” the Foreign Minister emphasized.
He recalled that on Monday, after a meeting with the Hungarian minister, he asked for some time for diplomacy and thanked Ukrainians for “believing and waiting.”
“Our people, our soldiers deserve this victory. A victory that is a part of our great victory, which will certainly come,” Kuleba said.

EU leaders decide to start negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on EU accession
This was announced by the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Censor.NET reports.
“The European Council has decided to start accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova,” Michel wrote.
The European Council also granted Georgia candidate status for EU membership.
In addition, the EU will start negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as the necessary degree of compliance with the membership criteria is reached, and invited the Commission to submit a report by March to make such a decision.

International partners continue to contribute actively to the work of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. In recent weeks, grant contributions to the Fund have come from Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In addition, the UK (over EUR 16 million) and Germany (over EUR 33 million in total) have announced their contributions. Denmark has also signed a grant agreement with the Energy Community Secretariat for a further grant contribution to the Fund of around EUR 7 million.
This brings the total amount of pledges to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to EUR 390 million.
“The enemy keeps trying to attack Ukraine’s infrastructure. Our military and energy engineers are doing all they can to protect energy facilities. The Ukraine Energy Support Fund is being used to purchase equipment for our energy companies to restore electricity and heat supplies to consumers across the country as quickly as possible,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
It is worth noting that the Fund has already received EUR 229 million from 18 public and private sponsors from different countries. The rest of the amount consists of announced and formalized contributions that are expected to be received in the near future.
The Ministry of Energy has a working group for the organization of humanitarian aid in the energy sector, which deals with requests from fuel and energy companies for the necessary equipment. The procurement of such equipment is carried out by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in accordance with international standards of transparency. Procurement contracts worth nearly EUR 114 million have already been signed as part of the Fund’s implementation.

There are about a thousand of ATACMS long range ballistic missiles in US stockpiles that are expired and ready for disposal, though in fact they are still functional, and certainly much more efficient than anything Russia has. The good information is that there is a way to provide this deadly effective weapon system to Ukraine omitting to political roadblocks in Washington. President Joe Biden could hand them over even without the consent of the Congress.

The Ministry of Economy has implemented a number of programs to remove barriers in the workplace, especially for people with disabilities – by 2024, the state will be able to help employers create 10,000 such jobs. This was announced by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, in her speech at a meeting with the Business Without Barriers community, attended by First Lady Olena Zelenska.
“Today, as a state, we must adhere to a clear philosophy – our citizens either work or defend the country. This is a question of our defense capability and economic stability. Our task is to ensure that everyone who wants to work has the opportunity to do so, including through legislation, and that there are no barriers to realizing this aspiration. That is why our priorities are, firstly, to improve labor legislation, and we are already making progress in this direction – by the end of the month we will be able to submit a new draft Labor Code for discussion. Secondly, the removal of barriers in the workplace, in particular by equipping such places with special furniture and applications necessary for people with disabilities to feel comfortable and safe in the work environment. Thirdly, the workplace productivity program is an ideology of well-being that companies have already begun to implement as part of their corporate culture,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
She recalled that in August this year the Government introduced a program to compensate employers for making workplaces accessible to people with disabilities. According to the program, employers can receive state compensation for special furniture, equipment and aids purchased for their employees with disabilities up to UAH 100,500 for adapting workplaces for group 1 disabilities and up to UAH 67,000 for group 2 disabilities. To date, employers have received 41 compensations for workplace accessibility in the amount of over UAH 2 million. The average amount of compensation is UAH 55,000.
“Next year, the Government will be able to help employers create at least 10,000 jobs for people with disabilities. We are allocating UAH 660 million to this programme. So I urge businesses to take advantage of it and remove barriers in the workplace for their employees,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
As for programs to improve workplace productivity, one of the projects launched by the Ministry of Economy together with its partners is the BetterMe app, which helps people prevent burnout at work. Since the announcement of this initiative, 300 employers, including the Ministry of Economy, have joined it, and employees can download the app for free on their mobile phones and maintain their physical and mental health.

The Business Without Barriers community was launched in November 2020, when ten Ukrainian and international companies united around the First Lady’s Without Barriers initiative and declared their support for the values of barrier-free access.
