My family purchased a new house in Rolling Valley in November 1966. Dad worked at the Pentagon at the time. When he was re-assigned as XO of USS Arlington, we sold the house in Dec 1968 and returned to our house in Chula Vista, CA. During my time in the area, I attended West Springfield Elementary School for 5th grade, Rolling Valley Elementary School for 6th grade and Washington Irving Intermediate for 7th grade. I joined the Boy Scouts there and left as a Star scout. My only Scout camp was in Goshen, VA in July 1968. It was a good time to live in the area.
