While looking at the photos of the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Agnes in 1972, it occurred to us that the 1970s were just awful.
Worst decade ever.

“spawning punk rock”
yes, one of the best bands of all time:
THE CLASH
and one of he best albums of all time
LONDON CALLING
I do not see us recovering from the disastrous O’Biden years. Not after every bureaucrat is an American hating marxist and the nation has been over run by an invited invasion of violent America hating illegal aliens"
We need to repent, pray for our nation, and ask the Lord for mercy.
And pray for President Trump to somehow return to office. 🙏
Recovering from all this damage is going to be a massive undertaking, but IMO it starts with President Trump being back in the WH.
Give ‘em Hell, Pell
“I grew up in the 70’s, the worst part was Jimmy Carter.”
The 1976 Mustang wasn’t much better!
“...I’d go to the disco and have to choose among dozens of hot chicks who wanted to dance....Lots of pressure.”
I was the electric bassist in a hot disco band, we played most weekends, toured around various DC clubs and several local beaches. It was a blast! Then it got to be a drag. Good experience but 97% of the club owners were out to shaft the band... then the DJ’s showed up... and it was over.
I still despise club owners and DJ’s
I never saw any problems in the 70’s. Frankly, I thought we still had a USA and not an Obama and Biden trashed USA.
Except for disco. Was so glad when disco died. But it was replaced with hip/hop and rap.
I didn't like disco. But the girls I liked liked it so....
“A lot of weird stuff happened in the 1940s”
Ruzzia allied with the Nazis
The US allied with Ruzzia
Film Noir
The Tucker Automobile
Etc.
I spent most the 70’s in the military, some of it overseas.
After I came back I could see I didn’t miss a darned thing.
As an NCO, I only use “Darned” because Freeper Zotters can’t stand how people really talk.
DJ's are the worst, live bands are always better. I see Stanley Clarke is coming to the Saratoga Jazz Festival this Summer, always wanted to see him live.
Lynyrd Skynyrd.
ummm nope, and i lived in the heart of her devastation...
I submit for your consideration:
The 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty

Equally, it is asinine to generalize and name "generations" as though everybody born in that time period thinks and acts alike.
When I think of the 70’s, I think of Lynyrd Skynyrd, so they can’t be all that bad.
“Misery Index
Wage and Price Controls
Iran Hostages
Whip Inflation Now”
1973: Biden elected to the U.S. Senate
Man I hated ABBA
