My Grandfather smoked Muniemakers. We were all in Connecticut, and this economy priced cigar used good Connecticut wrapper.
My dad sometimes smoked Phillies with the plastic tip until he got lung cancer under 40.

“Cigars smell like what they look like.”

Baccarat maduro toro. Less than $4.00 a stick online ( box of 25). Great, easy smoke.
As Sigmund Freud said “Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar”.
I get mine from Cigars International and Thompson. Can also try Mike’s
twenty five years ago I smoked cigars and over enjoyed them — I quit
Ybor City district in downtown Tampa Bay is worth two days if you are a cigar guy.
When I am there I get my brother’s Christmas presents — he loves them.
Call first as you plan as some shops will only allow walk in pick-up of advance orders
Years ago, JR Special Jamaicans were a sleeper brand, especially if aĺlowed to mellow in a humidor for a few months first. The brand is still available, but is somewhat different now.

I just saw someone get really screwed on cigar page/bid/whatever it is. I’d rather buy from a store where I know it’s kept in a warehouse/humidor rather than in someone’s bathroom or dirty sock hamper.
Black Cat Cigars is good, and they have a weekly discount coupon. I smoke Punch Clasico as my daily. About $3 each for a hand rolled Honduran. Recently I was in St Augustine and had a La Fleur Dominica Cabinet 6, and I can’t say I’ve had a better cigar. They are like $500/box, so never mind. Once in a while.
Those are the sites for Cigars
Skip that full price stuff
If they arrive a little dry, a couple weeks in humidor will fix
I indulge in ONE cigar on my Birthday each year and it’s usually something ‘sweet & girly’ and not all that expensive in the first place.
It’s been a long time between pings, Martin! ;)
I buy all my sticks from JR’s, but I HATE the place! However, if you work through their very bad website and look for the discount codes they are still the cheapest available.
Good post—cigarpage is my favorite non-Cuban site.
Cigarplace.biz has good sales from time to time as well.
While I smoked non-Cubans for decades I started buying (by mail, from Europe and Australia) and smoking Cubans a few years back—but the glory days are over for now—they have exploded in price since the end of 2021—production is less than half of what it is and the prices have tripled or quadrupled in just a couple of years.
If anyone has questions on Cuban cigars I will be happy to answer them.
