Last night, I watched a documentary about the Gestapo. It occurred to me that it used the same tactics as the bumbling joke that currently occupies the Bully Pulpit and his minions. I did some research to substantiate my thoughts.
History
The Geheime Staatspolizei, abbreviated Gestapo, was the official secret police of Nazi Germany. It was created by Hermann Göring in 1933 by combining various political police agencies of Prussia into one organization. On April 20, 1934, oversight passed to Heinrich Himmler, the head of the Schutzstaffel (the SS, originally Hitler’s personal body guard), who was also appointed chief of German police by Hitler in 1936.
Tactics
The Gestapo’s power focused upon Hitler’s political opponents through lies, atrocities, and reprisals. It often made up facts against political opponents in order to achieve its objectives. Those political opponents included people deemed dangerous to Nazi policies and politics. They could arrest and imprison anyone and always assumed that their targets were guilty. Once arrested, people found it difficult to prove their innocence.
The Gestapo crushed opposition through actions, both legal and illegal, such as fear and intimidation. It operated without any civil or criminal restraints. Propaganda, which included censoring the media, kept the majority of the population in line.

I begin with Attorney General Merrick Garland’s lie about DOJ investigators being nonpartisan. He said, “Justice Department prosecutors are nonpartisan. They don’t allow partisan considerations to play any role in their determinations.” To Scott Pelley’s question, “And this is not peculiar to the Trump investigations?,” Garland responded, “This is the rule for all investigations.”
The DOJ today is increasingly motivated by partisanship. The PATRIOT Act laws were designed to fight terrorism. But they have been transformed into tools by which the DOJ keeps constant tabs on law-abiding...

- Trump will throw his political enemies in prison

- We must control ‘disinformation’

It’s all just a deflection from the fact this is what they’re already doing. Pure projection.
The real problem is our ‘free press’. The whole point is to be a check-and-balance on holding government accountable, not be a tool of one party to destroy the other.

I remember back in day that G. Gordon Liddy had problems with the Patriot Act. He was right - as usual.
Among other things, this article illustrates the danger in unifying a nation’s police into a single force. Here in the US we have local, county, and state police that are all rather independent of each other.
We must be vigilant to keep it that way.

I warned people 30-40 years ago and they all said that I was crazy, demented, a liar, hateful, conspiracy theorist, prejudice, wrong and such. I separated myself from them. I’d like to see what they think about it now...
One key tactic is blackmail. The purpose of them securing all the information on people is blackmail. Why do you think no Epstein prosecutions?

I will use that as an excuse to tell a G. Gordon Liddy story. My decades ago I went to a debate between Liddy and Timothy Leary. It was held at a local college. Lots of college kids were there.
When Leary first came on stage, there was loud applause from the audience. Liddy got mainly boos.
When the debate ended, Leary got a smattering of polite applause. It was Liddy who got the loud applause.
Yes, you read that correctly. Liddy turned that audience right around. He was that good.

Interesting.
Wait. A debate on a college campus between people with opposing political and social viewpoints. How is that even possible? Did such a world even exist? Thank God we now live in a world where students would immediately and violently protest and disrupt an event like that.
Decent write-up, but he gives xiden FAR too much credit (we all know it’s zero pulling the strings, but at least he fingers ‘the biden bunch’).
