Well reading your post reminds me of my house. I have had squirrels do all of what you mentioned as well as eating the wiring out of 3 different vehicles as well as a trailer. I’ve killed about 40 squirrels in the last two years. I have about another 10 or so to shoot.
Years ago I trapped them in a have a heart trap. Every day a squirrel. I would take them five miles away and let em loose. After noticing no real drop in squirrel numbers I spray painted their tails with red paint. Sure enough after about three days, the same squirrels with red tails would show up. They are like homing pigeons. It’s amazing really. So now we have a more permanent relocation method. That said, the rebound population that moves back to fill the void becomes quite robust. All the owls, hawks, Falcons, we have in the neighborhood tree canopies, and they don’t even make a dent. The predator birds seem to prefer the birds at all the back yard feeders. “POW” There goes Mr.Cardinal. Squirrels are not on the preferred menu.
