Disturbing babycam footage shows a 13 year-old Florida honors student standing over his sleeping mom in her bed, moments before he allegedly murdered her.
Derek Rosa was seen in an eerie black and white image released by Miami-Dade District Attorney's Office Monday, looming over his 39 year-old mom Irina Garcia in her bed on the night of October 12.
The time stamp on the static image shows 11pm. Rosa called 911 to report the murder around 11:30pm.
His right arm appears to be moving in the image, although prosecutors have yet to provide further detail on what they allege is happening in the photo.
Another haunting photo released by investigators shows Garcia in her bed, cradling her 14-day-old baby, at 10:23pm the same evening. The bedroom light is on, meaning the image is in color.
Just an hour later Irina would be dead.
Other images released include a selfie Rosa is accused of sending a friend after the killing, with what appears to be blood smeared on his hands. Distressing images of a pink-handled knife covered with blood were shared too
Rosa has been charged as an adult over the murder. He has pleaded not guilty: his lawyers are yet to declare any mental illness defense.
No explanation has yet been given for the frenzied attack.
After the stabbing, he called 911 at around 11:30pm to report having just killed his mother, while his newborn baby sister slept in her crib nearby.
He told the operator that he stabbed his mother in her sleep, and that he was also contemplating suicide - but said he 'didn't want' to kill himself.

Don't know about this kid, but our grandson is 13, taking AP everything in 8th grade, and plays soccer and ice hockey. He and his BFF, a girl (they've been best friends since they were 8) set up a website to sell candy at school. They take orders online and deliver them to the school. Even teachers are ordering. Buys about $400 a month from WalMart.
He also has a website where he sells personalized items, keychains, pencil holders, bracelets, etc. that he prints up on his 3D printer that he got for his birthday back in August. Since then he's made enough that he bought a $2000 model (a Bambu X1 Carbon) that's much faster and prints in 4 colors.
Plus one of those 8th-grade courses he's taking is "Principles of Applied Engineering". I wish I could post the PowerPoint that he did for his team for a recent bridge design project. It's much better than ones I've seen at businesses I consult for.
His mother, our daughter, says she's really not worried whether he goes to college or not because she figures he'll be a millionaire before he's 21.

Sounds like extreme jealousy of a co-dependent child feeling abandoned due to the new child getting mother’s attention.
This is common when a mother dotes upon a child and then a newborn forces the mother to transfer all her attention away from the older child.
Thirteen is extreme age for this.
I encounter this often in my work when a mother has a second child that requires her attention when the older child has not gone through the terrible two’s. The terrible two’s are when a child creates separation from the mother and begins to develop a separate sense of self.
I have found in my research that this pattern often causes a fear of intimacy for the older child throughout life. This is very common in men who perpetually cheat on their relationships.
Apparently, in the case mentioned in the article, the helicopter mom never allowed the older child to develop a sense of self. Thus the intimacy of the co-dependency was violated by the appearance of the newborn.
This pattern is common in single parenting where no thather is present to balance the mother’s energy and it all focuses on the developing child. It is especially true when the mother is strong masculine and her energy causes the son to develop as her compliment, as feminine rather than having his own healthy self identity.
In my work, I search for the perceptual programming events that create personality and behavior problems later in a person’s life. The strongest perceptual programming events happen ehen the child is in the mother’s womb as a child in the womb cannot differentiate between the mother’s experiences and their own.
It’s easy to determine how the parents got along by reading the stored memories on the outer perimiter of the child’s soul, even though it may be 50 plus years later and the child is now grown.
For example, approximately 90% of the lesbians I worked with, the mother was angry at the father during pregnancy. I’ve worked with many. These stored memories in the soul are so emotionally strong it usually knocks the person off their feet when I touch the stored memory many feet from their physical body.
This unhealthy emotion is further exacerbated when the newborn is a girl and the older child is a feminine boy.
Some children develop early. I came from a very poor family and started working construction at 12 years old.(Mostly roofing)

Problem was, I abandoned my childhood early, missed important developmental stages, and had to return to complete them in my early thirties. Not a very comfortable thing to do.
I truly was the 7 year old going on 35. That creates its own difficulties in life.
Became a CPA for an international firm in my early twenties, and at twenty-six became a full time tenured university professor. Died at thirty-one and returned to my body a different person. Went from a type A logical own it or control it no nonsense personality to an emotional basket case of a four year old as I had to return to the developmental stage where I abandoned my emotional child and embrace that aspect of my soul to become whole.
This led to my career change to study medicine, psychology, neuroscience and religion(s) to integrate both aspects of consciousness.
Life is interesting, but I’m ready to return to Heaven. I miss it more than words can describe.

Yes, that struck me to say whatever did go down, the kid saw the mother as the problem. He may even have been contemplating this but waited until the baby was born.
I do bet the friend he sent the hand picture to had some idea of what was behind the anger.

People can be very blind when it comes to family. Especially children.
