The odds of getting fatally attacked by one of the carnivorous fish are less than 1 in 4 million,
She should have bought a lottery ticket instead then …
One of those “til death do us part” stories...
A shark could swim faster than me, but I could probably run faster than a shark.
So in a triathlon, it would be all come down to who is the better cyclist.
We were bill fishing off of Caracas one very hot day. Just before jumping in for what we hoped would be a cooling swim along comes a great white, not supposed to be there but there it was. Swim cancelled.
Poor woman. Not a pleasant way to die.
Climate change anyone?
Aww, you guys should have taken a quick dip, then you would've had some legit bragging rights forever.
lol
I have swum with sharks.
Whooops!
“The odds of getting fatally attacked by one of the carnivorous fish are less than 1 in 4 million”
But... it’s obviously not unheard of.
he odds of getting fatally attacked by one of the carnivorous fish are less than 1 in 4 million,
++++++++
If your a landlubber I suspect those odds go up a bit
There are probably 4 million people splashing around at the world's beaches at any time of day.

I was fishing an outgoing tide in a channel down along Florida GOM, and I noticed some commotion on the beach and I continued to fish, I got done fishing that tidal shift I waded back to shore and that’s when I heard that there was a significant black tip about 10 ft behind me... I could have lost a limb or gotten mangled! Talk about braggin’ rights!
Tourists down there wade out into the Gulf about 5:00 p.m. and I noticed that every night that was a group of locals that would go down to the beach and I asked them what was happening as they set up there evening fishing rigs and they said “you see them tourists out there? They have no idea that sharks feed around this time every day.”
Eaten by a shark on her honeymoon? Bad karma baby. I never liked paddle boarding either. Looks boring.
...it’s not boring in shark infested waters.
I don’t gamble unless I have a direct hand and a clear path to an outcome that I can pursue. (unless I am gambling strictly for entertainment, and then it is entertainment, not gambling. Spending money just to lose it, I suppose)
When you go into the water with sharks, you are not in control of the outcome in any fashion, even if you “follow the rules”.
Sharks don’t gamble. They swim, eat, and make little sharks. That’s it.
I won’t make light of this woman’s fate. She was a real person who met a terrible end. It is easy sometimes to forget that when posting, and I am as guilty of anyone.
” but I could probably run faster than a shark”
Hope you never have to find out, ‘cause I really doubt it, unless you can run a 2 minute mile.
What does a person swimming on a paddle board look like from underneath the water?
That’s right!... a SEAL!
And sharks don’t have that great of eyesight.
