An American woman has been killed by a shark while paddleboarding in the Bahamas, according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
The woman was paddleboarding with a male relative near the back of the Sandals resort, about three-quarters of a mile out to sea, when she was attacked, police said.
A lifeguard responded on a rescue boat, police said. CPR was administered but the injuries to the right side of her body were too severe, police said.

That area is known to be Shark territory.
Why put yourself in that situation, so far from the shores?
That does seem like a really long way out there.
We’re gonna need a bigger paddle board - all kidding aside, sad story
Just before the attack, the shark said...
American woman
Stay away from me
American woman
Mama, let me be
Upon hearing of this incident, Barky Odumbo was heard saying “Where can I hire a shark? My knuckles took a week to heal.”
A shark could swim faster than me, but I could probably run faster than a shark.
So in a triathlon, it would be all come down to who is the better cyclist.
What a shame. The woman was just married on Sunday. There are 30-40 species of sharks in the Bahamas, including the reef shark, bull shark, and tiger shark, all known baddies.
Bad situation. But if you’re gonna be out where the sharks are... don’t be on a sandwich...er...paddleboard.
Tourists seem to have no respect for the danger they put themselves in...how does a dead person say, “whoops, my bad”?
Trying to live some childish animal, or “adventure” fantasy..like the newlyweds who took off from the ceremony in a copter ,crashed, and died on the spot. Or the brainiacs who both bungee dove off a bridge, right after their wedding ceremony, ..had the cord break and both got killed. I guess stupid dies as stupid does.
nothing good comes from going that far out...

Maybe it was her husband’s idea. If so, he is probably really hating himself now.
That is way too far out from shore; asking for trouble. That said, may she RIP.
No! I didn't read the article (yet, but I will). Cuz I'm a Freeper. That's why.
That was probably him on the other paddle board. I can't imagine!!!!!!!!!

Paddleboarders on my small lake in N GA don’t have to worry about aquatic life. Just saying.

Thankfully, we have avoided the shark problem in northeast Georgia as well. Of course, the men here also avoid skinny-dipping in lakes where large catfish are known to be found. I’ve been told there is “no need to take chances”.
That’s funny!
