Can they both lose? Ha, ha. No, but I do see that they are going to play, not in the Peachbowl, but in the Orange Bowl.

The SEC wasn’t good this year. Maybe I'm wrong, but the last I checked no one was demanding all of the SEC be in the playoffs. Only Bama and Georgia -- two teams that had impressive records against a lot more big winning teams than anybody else except Texas.

“The SEC wasn’t good this year.”
The pathetic committee felt they had to put a SEC team in there to be “fair’ to the sports MSM. And of course TV money.

Saban ALWAYS lobbies for inclusion. This year he said it would "be a disrespect to the SEC if there isn't an SEC representation in the [CFP]." Never mind that Texas is now practically SEC. His real motive? A share of the money.
So now FSU is totally “disrespected.” Who was lobbying for FSU?

FSU and Georgia are slated to play each other in the Orange Bowl. It will be an interesting game.

They’ll play in the Orange Bowl in Miami, not the Peach Bowl.

Point being, Bama’s Strength of Schedule wasn’t that great neither. Add in almost losing to Auburn, and struggling with USF.

That’s ok, I guess I’ll console myself with those football, basketball and baseball titles we’ve won in the last 15 years.

It frequently happens that there are 5 or 6 teams considered for the 4 spots. This was the first year that IMO there were 8 legitimate contenders: the 2 PAC12 teams, the 2 Big10 teams, the 2 SEC teams, Texas and FSU. Those 8 would have made a heck of a playoff.

Trump is so far ahead in the polls, one would think he could realize that being generous to DeSantis would score higher than petty sniping. DeSantis is effectively out of the running, and DJT would do well to befriend him.

The SEC wasn’t good this year. Against the ACC: 4-6Geez.
Florida St. was indeed hosed.

Point being, Bama’s Strength of Schedule wasn’t that great neither. Add in almost losing to Auburn, and struggling with USF. Bama played 5 teams that were good enough throughout the year to make it to the final rankings at the end of the season (Georgia, Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee). You can say that's not a strong strength of schedule. And you can also say that Stacey Abrams is anemic. You'd be wrong on both.
