Nobody has asked for American troops to fight for Ukraine.
Ukrainians themselves have asked for American material and financial aid to help them fight off Vlad the Ivader's forces.

In recent weeks Vlad's forces have mounted massive offensives around especially Avdiivka, resulting in about 1,000 Russian troops killed per day, according to Ukrainian estimates.

We are not told Ukrainian forces casualties, but since they fight from dug in defenses, with long range artillery and drone strikes, we'd expect Ukrainians to lose vastly less than exposed Russians in "Meat Wave" assaults.

In times of war and invasion, literally every adult is a soldier in one form or another, even if still in school or working in farms & factories, all will have vital jobs to perform eventually.

That includes women, who are said to now represent 23% of Ukraine's armed forces.
In the USA it's roughly 20% overall of our military are women.

Ukraine's population of adults under 65 is circa 20 million, of whom nearly all will at some point contribute to their War of Independence from Russia.
