So far as I know there are no nations on earth with lower birthrates or lifespans than Russians themselves, to the point where Russian-Russians will in time, if not already, become a minority in their own Evil Empire.
The conquest of Ukraine then was seen as a way to shore up Russia's own population and economic base.

Vlad the Invader did not expect to find Ukrainians so fiercely opposed to "Mother Russia's" murderous embrace.
Now he's committed and so must either "rule or ruin" Russia's alleged Ukrainian subjects.
