Thieves ram-raid Seattle businesses with 'crash and grab' burglary trend taking off across the city

A newly-opened boutique store in Seattle has suffered two 'crash-and-grab' burglaries within four days as the worrying trend spreads across the state.

Rush Hour, which specializes in buying, selling, and trading sneakers, streetwear, and vintage items, was smashed into just before 5am on November 17 using a stolen Chevrolet Silverado.

The thieves then ran inside to steal their merchandise but the owners of the store were optimistic this would not deter them and hoped to recoup some their losses on Black Friday.

But they were again targeted by thieves on November 20 who used a stolen Kia Sedona to crash through the store front and take high-priced items which were left behind in the first raid.

Seattle police have said they are seeing more criminals using stolen cars to ram into stores as a tactic to steal expensive goods.

The owners of Rush Hour shared a video on Instagram following the first burglary to say they were not 'down' about the situation.

'We're never going anywhere,' Sean said. 'We're open, the store is still open. Show some support.'

However, a second car smashed into their store and more items were looted from their business.

'I’d hate to say they didn’t take much because they took something,' co-owner Key told Kiro7.

'They’re putting a dent in what business needs to be done, what we need to have the shop flowing.

'Everything is valuable to me in the shop. This is something we built from the ground up.'

'Someone stole a Kia, ran into the shop, typical. It’s been happening a lot lately, unfortunately, happened to our business which we just started a couple of months ago.'

The store has now been boarded up and a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money to help with repairs.

This is what happens when you quit enforcing laws.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_windows_theory

Of course I can make it simpler - those things you reward you get more of (laws are not enforced so criminals continue to commit crimes)

Those things that you punish you get less of (arrest, convict and put in jail criminals the crime rate will go down).

Obviously the owners whiteness and using his white superiority and systemic racism to open a store catering to the ‘urban’ youth caused this

Wish every business owner in Seattle could just pack up and leave.

It doesn't sound like this bunch of business owners thinks it's necessary.

They'll learn the hard way.

I suppose if he stocked only work clothes, steel-toed boots, hard hats, etc. he wouldn’t get raided, but he probably wouldn’t have many paying customers either. Can’t win.

In 2020 I was told by the mayor that it was the summer of love when antifa was being torching the city.

The pole barriers and concrete barriers were installed when this method appeared about 30 years ago or so.

Theft 2nd Degree

A theft offense is classified as theft in the second degree if the value of the property or services stolen exceeds $750 but is less than $5,000. The theft of an access device, such as a card, code, or other form of account access, is also considered theft of the 2nd degree. Theft in the second degree is a Class C felony that is punishable by a maximum of 5 years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

Some 50 or more years ago something similar was tried at an Atlanta gun store. The store has just moved to a new location and didn’t have crash barriers up yet so the owner (or owners - I forget which) were staying in the store all night. Sho Nuff a stolen vehicle came crashing through the front of the store and several gentlemen of color came running in to clean the place out. Gun store right. Defenders lit them up and several of the wannabe thieves achieved room temperature that night.

How times have changed. There were as far as I know no further robbery attempts there for several years.

The willful and wonton damage to the building and unlawful entry are more serious offenses.

There was a rare car chase just the other day in Seattle. The cops chased after a car that had some folks in it that did a drive-by shooting.

Just a stolen car and a smash and grab? Forget about it.

I don’t think Seattle cops can chase them unless they are violent felons. “Just” crashing into a store isn’t violent enough I don’t think.

The Daily Mail needs to reprimand its jornolist, Kamal, for dead naming “Seattle.”

It’s CHOP Formerly Known As Chaz, you bigots! (not to be confused with Cher’s son. I mean daughter)

At any rate, Crash and Grab is not a crime in CHOP Formerly Known As Chaz it’s a street game.
Street games are vital for getting utes out of their mother’s basements and away from the computer games.
